Overview
One of the most popular DeFever designs, the 44 Offshore Cruiser
"Serendipity" has an enormous sundeck and flybridge that
includes a full custom enclosure. Below "Serendipity" features
a large salon, galley and helm on the main level. The full beam, owners
stateroom is aft with the guest stateroom forward; both with ensuite
heads. The yacht is completed with an extremely roomy engine room,
allowing for easy access to all mechanical systems. After many
adventures aboard the owners are moving to shoreside pursuits and
pleased to offer "Serendipity" with confidence that this sound
vessel will provide many years of enjoyment to her new owners.
Walkthrough
SUNDECK
Entering
the yacht from the port or starboard onto the sundeck, you are struck
by the amount of space available here for seating and entertaining in
this bright and airy section of the boat. There is a built in cabinet
and folding table on the cabin bulkhead on the port side, along with a
window opening into the galley for easy pass through of refreshments.
To starboard, a stairway is found leading to the flybridge. Also to
starboard, is the door and stairway down into the main salon. On either
side, sidedecks are found leading forward to the bow. A full beam swim
platform, with ladder, is mounted on the stern.
BOW:
Moving
forward to the bow the shore power hookup is found forward on the port
side. On the bow a bench seat with storage lockers and a hatch is
located along the front of the superstructure. The windless and bow
mounted plow anchor, along with a salt water wash down system are found
all the way forward.
FLYBRIDGE:
Moving
up to the large flybridge there are port and starboard bench seating
for 6. The helm is found forward of this, complete with captain's chair
and additional bench seating for 4, port and starboard. The entire fly
bridge is enclosed with a custom top and isinglass curtains.
Aft of the flybridge, tender stowage is found atop the aft deck roof along with a lift davit and electric winch.
SALON:
Descending
stairs to the main salon from the aft deck, the U-shaped galley is
found to the port, with a separate under counter refrigerator and
freezer combo to starboard. Continuing past the galley into the salon a
large built-in settee with table is found forward on the port side. The
helm is located opposite on the starboard side, and includes bench
seating for two. Next to the helm is a door opening to the outside
companionway, for easy access during docking maneuvers. An additional
door is found on the port side just forward of the galley. The salon is
spacious and inviting, with room for additional seating, and features
large windows on all sides, wood paneling and parquet flooring
throughout.
GALLEY:
The
galley is located port side aft and features a large open bulkhead into
the salon. Two large windows bring in additional light, with one
opening to the aft deck for easy passthrough of refreshments. With
wooden cabinetry providing ample storage throughout, the galley is
U-shaped with a microwave oven, stainless steel sink and under cabinet
coffee maker on the left, a 3 burner LPG stove/oven forward and a large
countertop connecting through to the salon on the left. Separate Subzero
refrigerator and freezer are located opposite on the starboard side.
MASTER STATEROOM:
The
stair into the master stateroom is found just aft of the galley. The
master stateroom is full beam accommodation featuring a center mounted
king sized berth. Built in cabinetry provides port and starboard side
tables, with lockers and a chest of drawers on the starboard side and
additional lockers and vanity on the port. The ensuite head is found
forward on the port side and features a marine vacuum head, sink and
shower. On the starboard side forward is a large closet with built in
locker. Six opening ports, three starboard and three port and two large
opening ports on the aft bulkhead provide plenty of light and air.
GUEST STATEROOM:
Moving
forward through the salon, the guest stateroom is found down a stairway
in the bow section of the yacht, where two bunks are located along with
an additional head on the port side. The electrical panel is located on
the aft bulkhead along with the door into the engine room. The wood
paneling, joinery work and parquet flooring found in in the rest of the
yacht is carried through to the guest stateroom.
ENGINE ROOM:
The
engine room is large and roomy, with very high head room for a boat of
this size and layout; affording easy access to all the yachts mechanical
systems for operation, routine maintenance and repair.
