Designed & built under the supervision of Art DeFever, this is a highly specified, strongly built, immaculate, turn key, long range trawler and one of only a few GA53’s delivered. Big enough for the Bahamas and small enough for the Great Loop or the Canadian Canals.
Nagari features twin CAT 3126B engines, two Northern Lights generators, NAIAD Multisea Stabilisers with upgraded 7sqft fins, a near new always covered Brig 380 Center Console Rib with a 40hp Honda outboard, custom chocks, electronics and a 1500lb davit. She also features 600 GPD water maker, and an Intellian i4 satellite TV. She had new bottom paint this year and has just completed a three-month Bahamian cruise and the Down East Loop including the Erie and Rideau Canals, the St Lawrence River and Nova Scotia before returning to Florida.
With full walk around decks, a large integral low level boarding platform with three large relocatable staples railings and a very robust boarding ladder, oversized ground tackle, a Portuguese bridge and a very high flared bow with secure stanchions she is a safe and comfortable offshore cruising boat but still remains a handy size to be handled by a couple and to find available docks and get through tight locks and canals.
In every area of the yachts interior you will feel comfortable and relaxed, surrounded by the beauty of the satin varnished teak paneling, and the exterior gleams as well. All the external cushions have been recently replaced and a custom settee with internal storage and a TV Lift was built into the main salon. She has two walk around queen beds plus a convertible bed in the Pilothouse and a single bed on the new settee in Main Salon as well as two separate toilets and showers with the master upgraded with a fresh water Raritan Elegance toilet on a custom plinth.
With the recent upgrades to equipment and systems including professionally installed twin 210amp Balmar alternators with external regulation, a new 1200 amp hr Lifeline AGM house bank and 8D main engine start batteries all connected with Blue Seas ACRs, and the constant and documented maintenance program that this vessel has enjoyed, Nagari is ready to go to sea, and is easily handled by a cruising couple. Her fuel efficient 450hp Caterpillar diesels and robust running gear give her better than one gallon per mile total fuel consumption at 9 knots, a top speed of 14 kts and an economical cruising range of 1,500 + miles. Nagari comes with complete written maintenance records dating from the day she was delivered and is a tribute to her previous owners.
The engines have just been serviced by marine diesel specialists including injectors, valve clearances and heat exchangers and borescope photographs of the main engines and recent oil samples for all mechanicals are available.
The NIAID Stabilisers have just been serviced with new outer seals and a fluid flush, change and new filter.
After only 18 months of ownership and extensive upgrades the owners plans have changed and they are returning to Australia. The owners do not want to leave Nagari in long term storage so it is now for sale fully equipped and ready to cruise to the Bahamas straight away.
Nagari will come with everything required for long term cruising including an extensive list of spare parts and consumables, mechanical, electrical and electronics tool kits, a completely equipped kitchen, sheets, towels and even beach chairs and a umbrella.
