Bear Necessity is a classically styled trawler perfectly suited for an owner/operator to long range cruise. The current owner has spared no expense over the course of the last 15 years to ensure she has always been kept in tip top condition and she represents the finest example of a 65 Grand Alaskan on the market. In 2017 Bear Necessity had an extensive refit to ensure she will be turn key for her next owner. 
 

Some of Bear Necessity's notable features are a spacious cockpit for fishing and diving, a day head off the salon and a movie theatre on the flybridge.

Exterior 

Bear Necessity is a flushdeck motor yacht which boasts full walkarounds, a Portuguese bridge, large cockpit. She can be boarded midship at the pilot house, just forward of the aft deck or via the cockpit.  

 

Cockpit 

She has a large cockpit that is ideal for the active yachtsman to use for fishing or diving. In the sole of the cockpit there is a large lazzerette that can accommodate all your deck equipment and toys.  

 

Aft deck 

Bear Necessity has a spacious aft deck, finished with teak decks and a teak dining area this is the perfect place to sit with family and friends and enjoy an alfresco meal. 

 

Fly Bridge 

The Flybridge of Bear Necessity is unique to in her class, she boasts seating for the whole family, a grill and most notably an outdoor movie theater. This is a great place for the family and friends to gather after a long day to relax and socialize. 

 

Interior 

 

Salon 

Entering the salon the first thing you will notice is how open this boat is in to the galley. The open layout creates a great social atmosphere for entertaining. The salon is outfitted with a L shaped settee forward, a barrel chair and ample storage. Off the salon you will find a day head and stair case to the dedicated master stateroom entrance. 

 

Galley 

Forward of the main salon is the galley. During the 2017 refit the galley appliances were upgraded and a new dishwasher, stove, trash compactor, microwave and toaster over were installed.  

 

Pilot House 

Bear Necessity's pilot house has all the necessary navigation equipment to guide you around the world. She also has a large settee with a teak table that can convert to a king size bed, and there is a custom curtain to make the area private.  

 

Master 

Bear Necessity has a full beam master entered from a private staircase off the salon. The master is complete with a king size bed, a walk in closet and full head and shower.  

 

Guest accommodations 

Bear Necessity has 3 guest staterooms besides the master that are all accessed forward of the pilot house. There is a VIP with a queen size bed and a dedicated head and shower. There is also a bunk room with twin beds and a queen stateroom in the bow. The queen stateroom and bunk stateroom both share a head and shower.
