IVORY LADY feels more like a mini ship than a mega yacht.  Four water-tight bulk heads, a fire controls system incorporating six stations throughout the vessel, dead-lights for every opening port, and oversize prop shafts tell you that this vessel is designed to cross oceans. But although she is built like a ship, once aboard will confirm that she is one of the finest yachts afloat in her size range.

Forward of the salon is the dining area, a study in curves and expert joiner work.  The sideboards provide storage for all the china and cutlery necessary for formal entertaining.

The galley is forward of the dining saloon, to port, with a pass-through into the passageway.  The day head is opposite the galley.

A main deck master stateroom, or VIP suite, lies forward of the athwartship passage forward of the galley. The stateroom is the full width of the vessel, with king size bed mounted fore-and-aft on the centreline.  A full en suite head and shower/tub combination, and plenty of storage.

Crew quarters are below and forward with galley/lounge, two double cabins with over and under berths, and a double cabin with private bathroom for the captain.

Entry to the lower deck guest cabins is via a curving stairway leading below from the salon.  Three guest staterooms, one with double bed, one with twins, and a third with settee that is really arranged as a small study, lie aft.

The owner's stateroom lies forward, with king-sized bed, and his and hers bathroom.

There is a washer/dryer located in the guest quarters for those guests who prefer to do light laundry chores themselves.

The bridge deck is both comfortable and functional.  The wheelhouse is commodious, with plenty of flat surfaces for charts, and chart drawers large enough to store whatever charts are necessary for world cruising. Wing doors lead directly to the upper side-decks where control stations both port and starboard have bow thruster, gear, and throttle controls for tight maneuvering.

Aft of the wheelhouse is a sky lounge with adjacent bathroom, an ideal area for entertaining a few guests when they tire of relaxing on the sun deck immediately aft (again, accessed by counter-weighted stainless steel doors).  There is a Jenn-Air grill, sink, and wet bar located on the sky lounge also.

The engine room is oversize, with special attention given to sound deadening from the rest of the vessel, and more importantly from a mechanical viewpoint, easy access for maintenance procedures.

If you plan on cruising the coast or crossing oceans and want to do so in comfort, secure in the knowledge that you have a small ship ready to successfully challenge anything that the sea can dish up, the Cheoy Lee 103 may well be the yacht for you.

As you board IVORY LADY at main deck level, wing doors lead to the fully enclosed after deck.  Seven large smoked-glass windows/ports look across the transom.  Access to the salon is through counter-balanced double stainless steel framed tempered glass doors.  As you enter from the after, there is a small writing desk to port and a wet bar to starboard.  In the conversation area is a curved, L-shaped couch is the centrepiece of the lounging area.

Comments

IVORY LADY has been owned by the same owner since new.  She has had light use as evidenced by her engine hours and only used on the East Coast US.  This series was completely spec'd out by J.B. Hargrave and overbuilt by Cheoy Lee.  IVORY LADY was the first of series and purposely overbuilt.  She has always been kept behind the owners house and under his watchful eye.  She is in perfect original condition with some electronic and decor upgrades.
