Starting on the fly-bridge and then working down to the cockpit and then forward into the interior, the Hatteras’ fly-bridge helm station is on the center-line with the helm positioned aft so to give the skipper a good view of the fishing cockpit. A pedestal mounted chair for a companion is installed outboard of the helmsman’s chair to port and there is plenty of seating for crew or guests on comfortable bench seating forward of the helm console and along the starboard side of the bridge. The fly-bridge is covered completely by a factory installed fiberglass hard-top and protected additionally from the elements by an eisenglas 4-sided enclosure with U-zip openings. A ladder with black polypropylene steps leads down to the large fiberglass fishing cockpit where a transom door leads aft and out onto a FBG swim platform. An access door forward in the cockpit leads down into the engine room or, one may proceed through a door into the saloon.
The saloon and in fact the whole of the yacht’s interior is immaculate. The headliners throughout appear “like new” as does the honey oak wood paneling and the upgraded furnishings, décor and accessories create an interior that is classy and inviting. A leather L-shaped sofa with a “hide-a-bed” double berth is to the starboard side in the saloon and has a coffee table out front. Across the saloon to the port side, the electrical panel is housed inside an oak wood cabinet and a reclining easy-chair with ottoman is just forward of this. Forward of the saloon and on the portside is a dinette which seats 2-3, the entertainment center is over this and the well-appointed U-shaped galley is across to the starboard side.
Forward and down 4 carpeted steps from the galley/dinette area are the owner/guest’s accommodations. This very clever 3 stateroom layout incorporates 2 full heads with showers. The Master’s stateroom is amidships and to the starboard side with queen-size berth and private head en-suite. The second guest’s stateroom is across the companionway to port and sleeps two in over/under single bunk berths and has a private entrance into the large shared guest’s head/shower which is just forward. A second door into this head enables its use as a “day-head” when the stateroom’s doors are closed. A door closes off the companionway to privatize the VIP stateroom which is all the way forward and a third door into the guest’s head gives private access then to the occupants of the VIP guest’s stateroom. The VIP guest’s stateroom features a queen-size bed situated on the yacht’s centerline. A clothing washing machine and 220V dryer are stacked and housed inside a locker just aft of the VIP stateroom on the starboard side of the companionway.
Appliances are:
Queen-size bed (fore & aft facing) with twin nightstands, mirrored headboard, reading lamps, large hanging locker, drawers under the berth and en-suite head with stall shower
Over/under single bunk berths with reading lamps, tall hanging locker with mirrored door, drawer storage underneath the lower berth and a private entrance into the shared guest’s head and stall shower.
“You won’t have to cancel many fishing trips because of the weather with this Hatteras”. Built like a sport fishing boat is supposed to be built. Jack Hargrave/Hatteras Design Team design and engineering deliver high speeds, agile handling and reliable dependability.
Always on the Great Lakes and always stored inside a heated shed for 7-8 months of every year since being commissioned new, “Swept Away”, will make you proud.
