"Summer Place" has been well cared for by a knowledgeable Hatteras enthusiast. This three stateroom / three head motoryacht is incredibly spacious inside and out and benefits from a huge air conditioned aft deck. The wide flat side decks and cockpit make handling lines and docking a breeze and the owner has added a Freedom Lift which makes using the tender much easier than most of these boats which carry the tenders on the aft hardtop. The paint on "Summer Place" is in excellent condition and the boat truly shines. The engine room has been painted in white Awlgrip and is bright and meticulous.
Truly a Hatteras not to be missed, "Summer Place" would make a great cruising boat, liveaboard or an ideal family getaway. She is conveniently located just outside of Baltimore and Annapolis and is within 20 minutes of Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI). Please call today to set up a showing!
The 52 Hatteras Cockpit Motoryacht is an impressive blend of cruising luxury and engineering excellence. In production for close to ten years she was a proven winner for Hatteras, the company that set the bar for high quality motoryachts in this size range. Available in two and three stateroom layouts, "Summer Place" has the desirable three stateroom arrangement that features two large staterooms with queen size berths in addition to a third stateroom with oversized bunks. There are three heads all featuring stall showers with private entrances from both the master and the VIP staterooms.
"Summer Place" truly has a large yacht feel both inside and out. In addition to the three staterooms and three heads, the salon is large and bright and opens to a lower level galley and dinette that are flooded with light from the forward windshield above. The aft deck functions as a second living area with sliding windows and wing doors to both port and starboard and a canvas and isinglass enclosure on the aft section. The aft deck can quickly be opened up to enjoy a refreshing breeze or closed off when it gets too hot or cold allowing the reverse cycle air conditioning and heat to provide comfort all season long.
A flybridge is just a few steps up from the aft deck and features wrap around L-shaped bench seating as well as a pedestal captain and mate's chair. The centerline helm provides a commanding view and is fully accessorized including a Garmin GPS/Radar and features like autopilot. This area is protected by a bimini top with four sided enclosure with u-zip sections for ventilation. The side decks are wide and have no steps or breaks making transition forward to the bow safe and easy. Aft of the aft deck is a tremendously useful cockpit which allows for quick access to the water and makes boarding from a floating pier a snap. "Summer Place" is unlike many other 52's in the fact that she does not carry her tender high up on the aft deck hardtop where launching is not easily facilitated. Instead the owner has added a hydraulic Freedom Lift which launches the tender directly astern the cockpit at the push of a button. This makes use of the tender much easier and safer.
Saving one of the best features for last, the engine room on "Summer Place" is top notch. Access is convenient through stairs that swing up in the galley and once inside everything is typical Hatteras, well thought out and labeled nicely. "Summer Place" benefits from having had the engine room Awlgripped white (normal Hatteras of this era will be grey) making it very bright and easy to work in. With low original hours and the care of professionals this boat will provide reliable service and is ready for its next adventure!
The galley of "Summer Place" has been nicely updated with new counters and stainless steel appliances. She features abundant cabinets and storage and is conveniently across from the dinette.
Summer Place is powered by twin 720hp Detroit Diesel 8v92s. The engines have always been professionally maintained and had just over 1700 original hours before major overhauls. Rebuilds were performed by Carey Diesel. Invoices available. The engines and engine room have been painted white and lighting is abundant proving a comfortable area to work in.
Except interior joinery work and trim the hull of the Hatteras 52 CPMY holds no structural wood and no potential for rot. The hull is solid fiberglass that is close to an inch thick at its keel. Stringers are fiberglass filled with closed cell foam and fully glassed to the hull. Fuel tanks are likewise made of fiberglass and the entire exterior of the boat is finished in an Imron paint. Hatteras' reputation for durability and long lasting boats are a direct result of this build philosophy and it is seen throughout "Summer Place".
