The unique silver metallic hull and snow-white superstructure were painted in 2018 along with the engine room and lazarette in 2020. Additional upgrades include electronics, audio/visual equipment, new interior furnishings, and exterior closure and cushions. CHIEF is powered by twin CAT C-30 diesel engines at 1550hp accompanied by two Onan 21.5kW generators and features a spot zero (double pass) and ice chipper.
