Overview

In keeping with the owner's continuing process of updating and maintaining "Cherokee Lady" to the highest standards, during April, 2017 a new 240V Jenn-air grill, 110V refrigerator and 110V freezer were installed to the tune of $6,000.00 in the cockpit and the stabilizers and windlass were overhauled. Additionally, as part of "spring maintenance," the engine oils were changed in all of the machinery aboard, impellers changed and the cooling systems in both main engines serviced.

Vessel Walk Thru

The epitome of "live-aboard luxury!"

Beginning all the way aft is a fiberglass swim platform. A walk-thru transom door w/ gate leads from here into the large custom fishing cockpit with fiberglass non-skid sole and a portable hot and cold fresh water shower wand. A Jenn-air 3-burner electric cook-top, 110V refrigerator, freezer and a sink are housed inside cabinets forward in this area and stairs on the center-line lead up and forward onto the aft-deck. The aft-deck is mostly covered by the overhanging boat-deck above and large enough to accommodate 2 occasional chairs. A door leads forward from here and into the wide and very spacious main salon. Upon entering the salon, a large, comfortable “L”- shaped settee with coffee table is immediately to port and two swiveling upholstered chairs are across to the starboard side. Forward on the port side is a stairway which leads down to the master’s stateroom and engine-room. This stairway was custom built with a corian counter-top surrounding the well and accommodates six (6) persons for dining. A large 52" flat-screen TV is mounted to the bulkhead just forward and across from the dining area on the starboard side is a wet-bar with liquor locker, ice-maker and stereo system housed inside the ash hardwood cabinets. The effect of the interior decor is light and bright, conservative, tropical and airy. A doorway leads forward from the salon into the galley/dinette area. A “U”-shaped dinette is built into the starboard side and will seat two (2) to four (4) persons comfortably. The dinette has storage built-in under the seats. A well-equipped galley is across to the port side and features a complete set of stainless steel appliances all of which will be itemized later in this brochure. Forward from the galley/dinette area is the wheelhouse with center-line helm station, port and starboard side-doors, stairs which lead up and aft to the fly-bridge and a wide, comfortable stairway that leads forward and down to the guest’s & crew quarters.

The spacious Master’s Stateroom which is accessed from the stairway leading down from the salon spans the full width of the yacht’s beam measurement and features a king-size bed, two large chests of drawers on the port and starboard sides for clothing storage, a large head is en-suite with Jacuzzi bath-tub and shower and 2 large hanging lockers. Nightstands with drawers and lamps are built-in to either side of the headboard. The sole is carpeted. Forward of the master’s stateroom and down a short hallway is the walk-in engine-room. This area is also spacious as it spans the full width of the yacht’s beam measurement, provides full standing headroom and allows great accessibility to service the machinery from every angle.

The Guest’s/Crew’s accommodations consist of a VIP guest’s stateroom with fore n’ aft facing queen-size bed and head with shower en-suite, a second guest’s stateroom with twin single berths shares a head which is located across from this stateroom on the starboard side. This head has a shower and serves also as the yacht’s day-head. All the way forward is the crew’s stateroom or, third guest’s stateroom. This is a very comfortable stateroom with head and shower en-suite and over/under single bunk berths. A hanging locker and a chest of drawers provide plenty of storage for clothing.

The Fly-bridge which is accessed from the pilothouse is a large fiberglass deck which is covered by an aluminum framed “half-tower”. A helm station with full engine controls and instrumentation is forward and on the center-line and 2 pedestal mounted teak chairs with ladder backs are installed for the helmsperson and a companion. An aluminum radar arch and mast supports the arrays for the 2 radars and the SAT TV antenna raised above the half-tower. Aft of the helm is a custom built-in wet-bar with refrigerator, large S/S ice-maker and lots of counter space. Aft of the wet-bar is cushioned lounge seating for 10 – 12 persons and 2 cocktail tables are mounted on pedestals just in front. The boat-deck with tender and launching davit follows just aft on the fly-bridge.

Broker's Remarks

Cherokee Lady

Originally built as a Hatteras 65’ Motor Yacht; a 9’ fishing cockpit was added by Merritt Boat & Engine Works - Pompano Beach, Florida by a previous owner. “Cherokee Lady” has been owned by the yacht’s current owner since August, 2011 and has been maintained to the highest professional standards during the past 5.5 years.

Besides the custom fishing cockpit, outstanding features of Cherokee Lady’s interior layout are the yacht’s four (4) stateroom/4 head “VIP” layout, galley-up, pilothouse and full-beam walk-in engine room. The large fly-bridge with comfortable bench seating and a custom wet-bar, refrigerator and large capacity ice-maker are also fun inducing features which will enhance the enjoyment of the owners and the guests while cruising aboard this particular Hatteras 74.

Should you be seeking a good looking and solidly constructed fly-bridge yacht-fisherman and, one providing stabilized cruising comfort, long-range and reliable power then, “Cherokee Lady” deserves your serious consideration.
