Overview

The  43' Jeanneau DS is an excellent sailing vessel for comfortable blue water / long range cruising as well as casual coastal cruising or coastal live aboard. Performance is part of the package as she easily sails along at 7+ knots allowing you to get there in time for whatever your plans included.

This vessel is packed with all the right stuff! Full electronics, furling main and jib, a brilliant red cruising spinnaker, solar panels, wind generator, upgraded Yanmar 75HP diesel, full canvas, portable generator, bow thruster, dingy and outboard. A custom electrical system makes cruising on "WINDSONG" virtually energy independent.

The 43DS has an exceptionally large, comfortable (and dry) cockpit that enhances cruising comfort as well as providing space for cocktails and dining.

Below the cockpit is the centerline king berth in the owner's stateroom that includes plenty of storage, excellent headroom, a port and starboard entry and private entry to the owner's head and separate shower.

The forward stateroom includes a very large V-Berth, private head and shower, vanity, hanging locker and lots of storage.

The deck salon design affords line of sight vision from the salon, galley and nav station areas; a main feature of this design that makes these boats so popular!

The swim platform allows for convenient boarding and access to the large storage "garage' tucked into the stern.

This professionally maintained vessel will provide you with the right platform for your kind of sailing!

ACCOMMODATIONS

The "Deck Salon" design incorporated by Jeanneau in the 43DS expanded the liveability and comfort of cruising while still delivering sailing performance.

The raised deck incorporates the salon, nav station, galley and aft head into a common area surrounded by large windows that are at eye level. This provides line of sight view of the exterior surroundings and a light filled interior. Gone is the "dark down below" feeling.

The master stateroom is accessed by doors on port and starboard. A king bed is centerline with a settee / seat at the foot and storage on both sides. The 6' 6" standing headroom is terrific!

Forward of the salon area the guest cabin is self contained, including a head and shower to port and a settee, vanity and large hanging locker to starboard. The V-berth is spacious, comfortable and easy to access. This cabin affords comfort, storage and privacy not found in most owner's cabins.

The cockpit is huge, including the steering pedestal and instrument pod, wheel and centerline double drop leaf table. To starboard of the comfortable helm seat, a passageway to the swim platform makes boarding easy and provides access to the stern storage locker.

SALON

The raised salon is the defining feature of this vessel as it brings a new dimension of light, openness and functional comfort to a cruising vessel of this size.

The starboard side settees and dining table, as well as the port side navigation station and two upholstered seats, sit upon individual raised platforms above the level of the salon cabin sole. This brings line of sight views to the exterior, and floods the area with daylight. Gone is that "down below darkness".

The dining table has fore and aft folding extensions providing room for six to dine comfortably. Custom designed filler boards convert the starboard side settee into a single berth or lounging area.

The navigation station table is to port between the seats and includes a large hinged desk top and storage for tools, charts and miscellaneous items. This surface and the fore and aft seats makes an additional dining area for two. The electrical panel and nav instruments are mounted outboard. Below them and next to the aft seat, a large open top bin is a great place for reference materials, cruising guides, etc.

Large storage compartments abound in the cabin sole, below the seats, and outboard above the settees on both sides.

Access to the bilge pumps, the primary fuel tank , central fresh water tank and a removable, self draining storage bin is through lifting panels in the cabin sole.

GALLEY

The spacious "L" shaped galley is to starboard with centerline double stainless steel sinks.

An etched partition separates the galley sink area from the settees in the salon.

A removable laminated sink cover expand the work surface if needed. It is reversible, providing a cutting board surface.

The microwave oven is mounted outboard above the stove.

Lots of storage spaces, including a space for four stacked bins below the galley cabin sole.

MASTER STATEROOM

This cabin is large, functional, comfortable, bright and the pride of every Jeanneau 43DS owner!

Entry is through teak doors to port and starboard. A short step down takes you into the cabin where you enjoy the 6'6" standing headroom.

The centerline king bed is terrific; 6'3' by 6'wide. Under the mattress, a wide and shallow storage bin holds lots of thin things.

Outboard on both sides, shelves and two hinged lid storage lockers keep things nicely stowed.

Forward of the berth and outboard on both sides are wardrobe hanging lockers with shelves.

There are four opening ports and two hatches that provid great ventilation.

Two removable panels on the forward bulkhead provide access to the rear of the engine compartment. Above, a cabinet holds the ship's main house battery and windlass switches .The Spiral Cell start battery switches are forward of the house battery switches.

FORWARD CABIN

This cabin outshines many a master cabin on other boats. Spacious, large berth, plenty of storage, ventilation, vanity and an enclosed full head make this a place your guests will enjoy and want to return!

The cabin has a privacy door leading from the main salon. The enclosed head is immediately to port, Opposite a settee and vanity with a hinged lid and mirror above afford that touch of comfort your guests will appreciate. Storage compartments and shelves above and a huge hanging locker are terrific.

Storage shelves run along the hull sides to port and starboard, well above the berth..

The spacious V - berth is 6'5" deep and 4'8" at the head and comfortable. Under the berth are a fresh water tank and large storage compartment.

A large overhead hatch and a smaller hatch above the vanity provide light and ventilation, along with additional light from a fixed port on both hull sides.

Separately controlled overhead and reading lights serve their purpose well.
