For many boaters, the Little Harbor WhisperJet 38 is the ultimate yacht and one of the most attractive, innovative products to have ever arrived on the marine market. Her boutique Hood design is at the pinnacle of thinking, proper in all respects -- offering superb maneuverability, great 1’-10” shallow draft capability, speed, seaworthiness and easy handling. For many cruising areas she offers a nearly unparalleled combination of benefits and aesthetics, allowing access to shallow waters other yachts may only view from offshore. Free of underwater appendages such as rudders, shafts and propellers, there is less worry about snagging lobster pots or hitting underwater obstructions.
TUCKERKNOT is a carefully cared for, classic Little Harbor WhisperJet with the coveted hard top. She has tremendous features, including the Hinckley JetStick steering system, generator, air conditioning and twin Yanmar engines. Her shoal draft and high performance make her uniquely versatile as a day boat or for extended cruising. She is safe, seaworthy, fast, able to handle seas, all the while being gorgeous and fun.
TUCKERKNOT is in great condition, having benefitted from an owner who has fully updated her recently. She has been used seasonally in Nantucket waters. Maintained by Hinckley, Portsmouth, she is stored there in the off season and is now offered for sale only due to her owner’s change in plans. MASTER CABIN
Starting forward, a V-berth with filler converts to a large double. A premium mattress provides outstanding comfort. There are numerous shelves and storage lockers and two large cedar-lined hanging lockers.
DINETTE
Aft of the master cabin, to starboard, is a dinette with teak table that lowers, converting to a double berth. There is a hanging locker aft with shelving outboard. This hanging locker contains a closet for hangers and the JetStick computer control module.
GALLEY
The galley is located to port. Features include a Norcold 110-/12-Volt refrigerator, GE microwave oven with shelf, pressurized fresh water system, a 6-gallon stainless steel hot water tank with 110-V element and heat exchanger, Corian sink with Grohe faucet and Corian countertops.
HEAD, SHOWER
Forward of the cockpit, the bridge deck serves as the prime entertainment area. This area can be enclosed for use with heat and air conditioning, or opened to the elements aft via rollup canvas. Superb comfort is inherent in the design. The floor is teak planking overlaid on structural fiberglass decking. The hard top offers great visibility and has lighting, ventilation from deck hatches and is lined with a custom headliner. Additionally, the entire bridge deck hinges via an electric lift, allowing access to engines and systems maintenance. There is also a smaller hatch allowing quick access to the engine room. The headliner and all Eisenglass were replaced (2012).
The helm station is located forward to starboard, with full electronics and instrumentation, including a leather Stidd helm chair with built-in Hinckley JetStick steering and control module. Forward to port is a customized teak chart table. The L-shaped settee to port seats four comfortably with a tapered teak table and cover. Alternatively the table can be removed altogether to make room for more guests or lowered to form a third berth for sleeping. A removable seat back can be used by the co-helmsman/navigator.
Cockpit seating has storage access ports for better storage of equipment and supplies. There is a custom teak windshield with electrically actuated center-opening window.
TUCKERKNOT has a properly designed 12 VDC electrical system and a 125 VAC system with power from the inverter, generator or shore power. Her electrical harness is custom, and overall electrical systems design and execution is exceptional. Additionally, she has been designed and built in accordance with ABYC standards. Wiring throughout the yacht is tinned cable.
The Little Harbor 38 WhisperJet has a strong hull fabricated from a combination of knitted bi-directional E-glass with Kevlar hybrid laminate, foam cored for strength and sound deadening throughout. This combination of superior materials results in a stronger boat that is lighter -- thus faster and fuel efficient.
