Overview

Aunt Aggie is a delightful, modern trawler with classic trawler lines but built on a modified-V hull with shallow, full length keel. Her 14' 2" beam makes this trawler's main cabin very spacious with plenty of room for a full galley, lower helm, desk and seating/dining area. Two cabins, each with a queen berth makes sleeping for four very comfortable and the single head is roomy and contains a large separate shower stall. With a large cockpit, easy to navigate molded staircase to the flybridge, plenty of space and seating to entertain a group of people and a well equipped upper helm this boat has everything a modest sized liveaboard needs. Powered with a single Caterpillar 3116 300 hp diesel engine, she has plenty of power to reach a top speed of 14 knots but cruises efficiently at 8-10 knots. All fiberglass decks reduce maintenance while the interior maintains a nice balance of teak. This trawler has completed the Great Loop and is ready to go again.

Mainship 350 Walkthrough

Access to the cockpit can be obtained via the swim platform and transom door or over the gunwales and down a few steps on either side of the cockpit or forward on the starboard side to the lower helm wing door. The forward deck can be reached from the cockpit via comfortable walkways on port and starboard. Once in the cockpit, a sliding door leads to the main cabin and a molded spiraling staircase to starboard leads up to the flybridge. Access to the main cabin is made easy through the large, sliding glass door in the cockpit. Once inside the main cabin, the L shaped galley is to port, the companionway to the berthing compartments is centered forward and the lower helm, seating/dining area and desk are to starboard. Down the companionway the berthing compartment is laid out with the guest cabin to port, head to starboard and master cabin forward in the bow. On the flybridge is a large open deck aft and forward are bench seats to port and starboard, a fold out table between them and a single captains chair at the flybridge helm forward. Access to the engine/mechanical compartment is made easy through large hatches in the main cabin sole and lazarette.

Mainship 350 Salon

Aunt Aggie's main cabin is an open floorplan consisting of the large L-shaped galley along the entire port bulkhead with the sink along the forward bulkhead of the space. The Companionway to the berthing compartments is center forward in the main cabin and the lower helm, seating and dining area and small desk are along the starboard bulkhead. Two gliding wooden chairs and a table capable of feeding four comfortably makes up the seating/dining area and a small built in desk provides plenty of room to work or play while underway. There is a brass Weems & Plath ships clock mounted above the desk. The electrical panel is inside the aft sliding door to starboard and the engine compartment is below the sole of the main cabin. Plenty of windows, the starboard wing door and the aft sliding door provide natural lighting and fresh airflow to the space. The main cabin sole is carpeted throughout.

Mainship 350 Galley

The Galley features all the major components needed to prepare and store food and drinks for extended cruising. There is plenty of storage throughout the cabinets with a good amount of counter space. Corian counter tops throughout the galley and an under counter mounted stainless steel sink reflect the modern styling of this trawler. A princess three burner electric stove and oven are aft of the sink with a Black & Decker Spacemaker coffee maker above it. Further aft is a three quarter height refrigerator with separate freezer compartment below and a Panasonic microwave oven is mounted above the refrigerator. Farthest aft is another Corian counter top with storage cabinets both below and above. A JVC KSF-130 stereo is mounted in the aft most cabinet in the galley and is connected to 4 speakers, 2 in the main cabin and 2 on the flybridge.

Mainship 350 Lower Helm

The design of this boat makes effective navigating from the lower helm possible. The helm is outfitted with all the necessary equipment including:

  • Raymarine RL70C color radar display
  • Apelco VHF marine radio
  • Sleipner Sidepower bow thruster controls
  • Raritan MKII rudder position indicator
  • Raymarine depth and speed display/log
  • Saturn AquaMeter Compass
  • Trim tab controls
  • Engine gauges and controls

Mainship 350 Master Stateroom

The master cabin is all the way forward in the bow of the boat. The large centered queen berth has walk-around access, reading lights, under bed storage drawers and provides very comfortable quarters for the owners. Cabinets with hanging lockers are to port and starboard with a private entrance to the head to starboard. The sole is carpeted, two portlights and an over head hatch provide natural light and airflow to the space.

Mainship 350 Guest Stateroom

It's rare to find a guest cabin on a trawler of this size and configuration with a full queen berth but Aunt Aggie has it. The guest cabin is to port aft of the master cabin and features a hanging locker, reading lights and a storage nook next to the berth. Just over half of the queen berth is tucked under the galley but provides plenty of space so that guests won't feel claustrophobic and with a portlight and overhead hatch plenty of natural light and fresh air is available to the space. The cabin is carpeted and has a large shelf on top of the hanging locker for additional storage.

Mainship 350 Head

The bright and modern head features a Vacuflush toilet, molded vanity with sink, storage cabinets and a large circular mirror over the vanity. The toilet uses fresh water to eliminate odor and reduce the chance of pipe scaling. The large shower stall with glass accordion doors provides a very comfortable space to shower without feeling cramped. A single portlight and overhead hatch provides natural light and airflow to the space. Access is via a private door from the master cabin and a second door from the companionway.

Mainship 350 Cockpit

The large, covered cockpit on this trawler provides plenty of room for a few chairs and a small table with room left over to move around. A large hatch just outside the main cabin sliding door leads to a mechanical space with access to the generator space, water tanks, battery switches and shaft seal. A smaller lazarette further aft provides access to the aft end of the generator, steerage and provides a storage space. A transom door provides access to the large swim platform and an outboard motor mount is to port inside the cockpit. Two additional storage compartments are in the transom port and starboard of the door. The large molded spiraling staircase to starboard leads up to the flybridge and makes for a very easy transition up and down.

Mainship 350 Flybridge

The large flybridge and sundeck provides a great place for navigating, entertaining or relaxing. The flybridge is enclosed with canvas and Isinglass, in good condition, on four side and features two large bench seats on either side of the flybridge and a fold up table with storage in the center that can be used as a dinette for four comfortably. A single captain's chair is located at the flybridge helm which is outfitted with the following equipment:

  • Raymarine RL70C color radar display
  • Garmin GPSMap 182 chartplotter (can be moved to lower helm)
  • ICOM Class B AIS Transponder MA-500TR
  • ICOM IC-M402 VHF marine radio
  • Sleipner Sidepower bow thruster controls
  • Raritan MKII rudder position indicator
  • Raymarine depth and speed display/log
  • Saturn AquaMeter Compass
  • Trim tab controls
  • Windlass controls
  • Engine gauges and controls

Even with a large deck box located along the aft rail of the sundeck there is still plenty of room for sunbathing, entertaining, grilling, etc. Tall railing all around the sundeck and stairwell provides great safety. A short mast is located in the center of the sundeck but does not interfere with movement about the deck.
