Main Description

Sanctuary, a Mainship 34 Pilot Hardtop is a versatile Down East style cruiser perfect for day trips, extended cruising, fishing, trolling, or scuba-diving. With a timeless design, the Mainship 34 Pilot will turn heads, even as she continues to prove her seaworthiness. Her deep full center keel, with pocket drives, provides stability and protection from grounding. The keel design also helps the boat to track straight, even at lower speeds.

Exterior

The cockpit of Sanctuary can be entered by a standard transom door at the roomy swim platform or over the wide gunwales. The cockpit steps at the gunwales are covered by a faux teak material. The flat non-skid fiberglass floor is roomy enough for removable deck chairs. The cockpit also has both fresh and raw water wash downs and a hand-held shower. There are inboard mounted aft cleats and deck hawse.

Two steps up is the helm and companion area. It includes double-wide helm and companion seats with footrests, and inward facing side lounges, on either side of the hydraulic engine access hatch. The removable backrests can convert the lounges into berths. There is a built-in insulated cooler box, and a tilt-up console which provides easy access to electronics and wiring. There are Sunbrella drop back curtains with removable shades over the eisenglass, which were installed in 2013. The center windshield has a swing open center section, and all of the hard helm area windows have covers. A U-Line Ice Maker is located below the port helm seat, and is currently used as a freezer only.

There are wide side decks, sturdy side rails, and a bow pulpit with a large anchor chain locker. Sanctuary has a 20# Delta plow anchor with a chain lead and 5/8? nylon rode, and a Lewmar Concept anchor windlass, which was replaced in 2014.

The exterior is a beige fiberglass finish, with a dark green hull.

Interior

The spacious and well-appointed main salon is three steps down and features an enclosed head with shower, aft of the galley to port. A dark green colored U shape dinette which easily converts to a double berth is to starboard. A single stateroom is forward. A beautiful teak and holly sole, wood doors with curved tops into the head and stateroom, and shutter-style folding doors into the wall of the stateroom all contribute to the traditional yacht décor and feel of the interior of Sanctuary. A Vizio flat-screen TV is viewable from the salon, dinette, or stateroom. Five stainless steel opening portlights provide excellent ventilation. A Marine Air One reverse cycle unit provides both heat and air conditioning. A WalVac central vacuum system is located in the stateroom, with the hoses stored in the salon.
