Engine Information

Overview: Broker Comments

Rare opportunity to own this 48’ Merritt SportFish Express CHUNDA.

CHUNDA is a beautiful 1998 hull, repowered in 2002 with an impressive 1600hp from her twin Scania DI16 42M, pushing her thru the water at around 30kts!

Walk-through

Starting in the cockpit, her full 16ft beam gives you plenty of room, fighting chair mounted center, two large fish-boxes port and starboard, and a lazarette aft.

Up a set of steps you enter the bridgedeck with a large bench seat to port and one to starboard.

Forward to port is a settee with a table.

Forward to starboard is the helm and all of the equipment appropriate for maneuvering the vessel and finding your destinations.

Through a sliding door and down a few steps you will enter the cabin.

Cabin

The cabin on CHUNDA is a great feature on this type of sport fisherman. It may be used comfortably during overnight fishing trips, or during the day when you want a break from the sun and want to enjoy air conditioning.

Walking down the steps into the cabin from the bridgedeck, you will immediately notice the bunk-styled berths to starboard.

Next to the set of berth, facing aft, there is a closet that contains shelves for storage. Another closet is located just forward of the berths to starboard.

In the bow section of the cabin is a smaller single berth with storage cabinets below, and extra storage is on the starboard side.

The head is located just to port when are entering the cabin. The mirror in the head is used as storage. Also, storage compartments are located below.

Cockpit

  • Transom tuna door
  • Rod holders on port and starboard gunwales
  • BlueWater fighting chair with footrest
  • Two fish boxes in the cockpit deck(one with a macerator pump)
  • Three(3) Rupp Marine Outriggers – one on each side and one in the center
  • Extra storage in lazarette
  • Gaff/rod/spear storage compartments under gunwales that run forward
  • Fresh water wash down
  • Salt water wash down
  • JL Audio speakers

Bridgedeck

The bridgedeck is a spacious area where you can relax, drive the vessel, and enjoy the view. The bridgedeck can be open or enclosed by strataglass. Also, lots of storage space is available. To the starboard side, just aft of the helm station, there is a sink and faucet with storage below.

  • Stainless steel sink and faucet
  • Storage in bench settees on both the port and starboard sides
  • Storage in bench seats on port side
  • Storage port of the sink
