Overview

MADCAP offers it all, a TriDeck to dock almost anywhere, yet large enough to have the volume of a 130 to 140-foot vessel. MADCAP is well thought out in every aspect from use to maintenance, sensible and sophisticated, stylish and comfortable. A go anywhere vessel that is sea kind and safe. I don’t know of another 114-foot vessel that offers near the attributes of MADCAP. MADCAP was built to ABS and can be reinstated. Please take the time to look further into the quality and features MADCAP offers. I promise you will not be disappointed.

General

MADCAP is a custom TriDeck built with great supervision by a very knowledgeable yachtsman who has built a number of quality yachts throughout his yachting experience. MADCAP completed her build in 2010, customized quality throughout with a luxurious and comfortable interior that can accommodate up to eight guests in four spacious cabins. Interior by Hodgdon Yachts, Maine craftsmanship at its finest. Her volume, both interior, and exterior would rival any 130'/140' on the market today, boasting a GRT of 299. MADCAP, featuring a clear round pneumatic elevator with access to three levels, ample outdoor areas that include a wide range of amenities and sumptuous sun lounging areas, is the ideal vessel for cruising the ocean in style and luxury. Her hull configuration, stability and walk around deck on both main and upper makes her a superior sea boat, comfortable and safe.

Entering The Foyer To Starboard Midship

One enters into a formal foyer with beautiful Teak and Holly floors, where one finds access forward to the Master Stateroom. The Galley is located forward to port and the Main Salon is located aft. Within the foyer one will find access to the day head (powder room), main entertainment system in a cabinet, closet for coats and shoes, stairs to all levels with safety bar on each and access to the three deck elevator. Within the entertainment cabinet one will find audio/visual equipment, iPod dock, Crestron system, B&K component, LTD amplifier, Escient CD players, Marantz five-disc CD changer (owner spec), Marantz DVD player, UPSPF power, all housed neatly for ease of use.

Master Stateroom

MADCAP’s on deck full beam Master Stateroom is located forward on the main deck and utilizes the entire 25' beam of the vessel. The Master Stateroom layout makes for volume not found on a vessel of this size. MADCAP’s Master Stateroom contains beautiful built-ins to provide as much space as possible.

The full beam His and Hers’ bathroom can be accessed forward from either side of the King size bed. His and Her sinks, heads and medicine chests are split on either side with soaking tub and shower in the center. There is a Miele washer and condensing dryer in this area as well, housed behind a vertical cherry door. On the starboard side behind the door is a series of cabinets with deep shelves and a pull out hamper below. The height of the countertops is raised for comfort and the sinks are Kohler with Grohe fixtures. The shower has a large built-in bench seat with both handheld shower and Hansgrohe stationary fixtures. Three water jets face outward for massage. There is a privacy door that splits the bathroom. A large Japanese-style soaking tub is installed on the aft bulkhead. A huge walk-in closet is found on the port side. This closet contains a dresser with three large drawers, hanging space and window with silhouette blinds and curtains. It is cedar lined with a large open shelf and hooks mounted throughout.

To starboard, the large walkin closet contains a floor to ceiling dresser with 6 drawers and two large shelves. On the forward bulkhead of the closet is the hanging closet with shelf above. This LShaped space moves aft to another set of shelves and storage underneath as well as more shelving alongside the space. Three large windows with blinds and curtains make this more of a room than a closet. Cedar lined with owners' combination safe installed, this area is very unique with an abundance of flexibility. Exiting the walk in closet and adjacent is another larger locker with three shelves installed.

The Master Stateroom has an open and bright feel with three windows to port side and four on the starboard with cherry cabinetry underneath both sides. The King size bed is slightly raised with nightstands on either side. Two swing arm lamps are mounted on either side of the headboard. The master bed has builtin drawers on both sides, night lighting underneath and built-in writing tables in the nightstands. There are two large chairs and ottomans to the starboard side of this large room. The television is mounted on the aft bulkhead and can swing out to be viewed while seated in the lounge area.

Galley

The Galley area is large for a vessel this size and was designed to be versatile for the individual owners' needs. The area can be closed off and used exclusively by the crew or can be used as a breakfast nook for guests. The seating area is "L" shaped with two stools and varnished teak table to accommodate up to 7 people. The crew access is adjacent to the seating and the guest access is midship.  The large countertop is U-shaped and houses the sink and cooktop.

There is another countertop that is used as a coffee snack station. The microwave is mounted above the cabinets. The portside door is a water tight (PCM) full glass door with access to the port side deck and boarding door for easy loading purposes. Forward and to starboard is a nice sized walk-in pantry with 5 large shelves, auto lighting and access to the galley electrical distribution panel. Galley includes teak and holly sole throughout the Galley, painted cabinetry in "Blue Angel" by Hodgson Marine, American cherry trim work with satin finish and stainless Omani hardware. The storage spaces are vast, with pull-out shelving and easy access.  Another feature not found on other yachts is the amount of natural lighting. Stereo speakers in the headliner and the Sharp 37" flat screen TV add to the ambiance.

Equipment to include:
U-shaped counter for food preparation
Sub Zero refrigerator
Sub Zero freezer
(2) GE Monogram ovens
Wolf Induction 5-burner cooktop
GE Monogram microwave
GE Monogram trash compactor
GE Monogram dishwasher
Sharp 37" TV
Dinette settee with table
Pantry storage cabinets and entrance to crew quarters

Salon

The salon was designed to be relaxed in an elegant casual setting with free standing furniture and comfortable seating for up to ten. To starboard, a gaming table with two wicker chairs; adjacent, a large coffee table is surrounded by a couch and four casual chairs with end tables.

There is a built-in cabinet against the forward bulkhead with a large pop-up TV and eight pull-out drawers on either side. The room is soothing and relaxed with the use of neutral tone carpeting, off-white wall-coverings and smooth off-white headliner material and cherry wood battens. There are many possibilities with this loose furniture arrangement.

Much of her furnishings are custom to include the overstuffed couch, four custom chairs, custom cocktail table, card table and chairs, French style double doors to aft deck, large Euro style windows, and a 50" Runco Wide Vision TV on the lift in the cabinet. With the TV down in the cabinet, it offers a beautiful piece of art on the forward bulkhead.

Aft Deck

MADCAP’s aft deck is a wonderfully designed space, comfortable and useful. It is a well-known fact that the least used room on a boat is the formal dining area. For this reason, the concept of creating another multipurpose room was applied to the design of the Aft Deck. This area is fully enclosed with air conditioning and heat and is for all intentions a part of the interior of the boat. However, with the folding salon doors closed, both side wing doors open and the aft side doors and all windows open, the room converts to a breezy shaded area. If the weather turns, it closes back up into a controlled environment without insects and moisture.

The dining table was custom built by Hodgson Marine and is expandable from eight people seating all the way up to nineteen with the help of an insert leaf. Eight cushioned wicker chairs surround this high gloss table. The sole is teak, nautical and logical for an area like this. Deck drains are in the corners. To port is a wet bar with sink, U Line refrigerator, U-Line icemaker and storage. The counter space is enormous and allows for buffet service. The aft section of the aft deck houses another large series of builtin cabinets with pull outdrawers. The counter is identical to the wet bar and runs between the aft wing doors containing a variety of dining items. The Aft Deck is climate controlled with lighting and cherry battens in the headliner for a smart, nautical look.

Skylounge

The Skylounge for MADCAP is a light and airy room with great comfort. The L-shaped sectional couches are decorated in a red denim material with two large ottomans and a custom built coffee table. The center of this area houses a 62" Runco wide vision Flatscreen TV with a built-in cabinet, four drawers and shelving underneath. On the starboard side, one finds two wicker chairs and a gaming table with footrest underneath. The use of cherry wood and offwhite wall coverings combined with the silhouette blinds make this room very soothing.

In the foyer between the Skylounge and Pilothouse, one will find the upper deck powder room, stairs down to the main deck, stairs up to the Sundeck and access to the elevator. Aft of the Skylounge one will find a large door to the boat deck, al fresco dining table and seating covered by the hangover of the Sundeck.

Wheelhouse

MADCAP has a gorgeous bright Wheelhouse that has an abundance of glass with nine windows which makes for excellent visibility. There are two water tight (PCM) doors on either side, with glass uppers that lead to the outside where you have access to the wing stations, foredeck and upper walk around side decks. There is a beautiful builtin settee with red leather cushions that have two larger pullout drawers and a teak and holly step that lead down to the accented nautical teak and holly floor. Ample storage with charter table and six chart drawer storage.

Aft of this seating is an office with Sony monitor/TV keyboard, HP Office Jet 4500, Ethernet and storage underneath the cabinets. This area also houses the GMPSS battery bank monitor, Furuno Inmarsat MES distness unit, Fururno Universal AIS, Furuno RD30 anemometer, Navtex receiver, two display screens and two printers, all MCA approved. The steering station console houses the Quantum bow thruster, Anschutz tiller nav and Pilotstar D autopilot with repeater, Furuno Doppler speed log DS80, Carlisle & Finch searchlight controls, Quantum stabilizer controls, Hepworth wiper controller, Kahlenberg whistle control, DeFroster controls 2, Cirque unit, two Furuno GPS, two Furuno radar control heads (see details of electronics), Furuno Navnet 3D control head, Jastram steering control head, 30" Edson wheel, two MTU monitors, ISIS monitor system, four large VEI monitors mounted in series for fully functional glass bridge and a Ritchie compass.

Aft and to starboard is the console that houses the navigation light panel, fire alarm, emergency bilge pump, emergency battery parallels and charger failure lights. The engine room ventilation shutdown and general alarm are located opposite along with the DDC chilled water master control head, two village marine remote leads, Jastram stereo unit switch center and alarm system. Code flags are stored in a series of cubbies below. There is more storage underneath in a cabinet and three shelves. The Panasonic phone super hybrid system includes intercom thruout, VOIP1 VOIP2 and shore phone line. Wing stations are located forward outboard. Anschultz rudder angle indicator, Guardian thruster, jog steering, searchlight controls, engine stop/start and MTU Throlle Heads.

Boat Deck

A large door separates the Skylounge from the boat deck and alfresco dining area. This seating area is covered by the sundeck overhang and is also accessed by two stairwells on either side, making it very service friendly. The table is fixed with L-shaped seating looking aft with four freestanding chairs. Teak decking warms up the area and provides good footing in a seaway. This space is well appointed with beautiful stainless rail and extra lighting.

MADCAP was built with all cruising and docking situations in mind including being docked to a high fixed dock, with a boarding door either side of the vessel at upper deck level to make provisioning and guest boarding easy.

There is a Scotsman icemaker located underneath the stairwell leading to the Sundeck. There are (2) Switlik 20-man rafts on either side. Once the 21' Key West dual console is launched, the whole deck can be opened up for guest and loungers.

Sundeck

This area can be entered via the stairwell from the Skylounge foyer by pushing an access button at the base of the step. A large, glass watertight sliding door opens to the Sundeck. One can also get to the Sundeck on the stairway from the boat deck.

The Sundeck is arranged with two fixed seating and lounging areas facing each other amidship with adjustable lounges for sunning on one side and an L-shaped seating area with Crown pedestal table on the other. The wet bar is aft to port with sink, icemaker pull-out drawer style fridge/freezers by U-line.  Aft of the wet bar is another shaded area with 2 lounge chairs and table. A large chest style fridge bar/freezer for extensive cruising is found next to the stairwell with custom fitted cushion.

A fully intergraded helm station is on the deck forward which is a perfect place to run the boat when winding through unchartered reefs around the world. The helm station has all essential redundant systems enclosed in a roll up style Tambour enclosure, two VEI screens, Furuno 3D NavNet, Furuno RD-30, Anschutz rudder angle indicator, Anschutz autopilot, Carlisle & Finch searchlight controller, Quantum thruster control, MTU start/stop and alarm system, two Icom waterproof  VHF's and Crestron stereo controls.  The helm seating arrangement is a single Crown centerline with a Crown double seat to port. The area aft of the helm seat holds two umbrellas for sun protection while lounging.

Below Guest Accommodations

One can get to the below guest accommodations by taking the stairs that go from the sundeck to the lower accommodations or the elevator that goes from the upper deck to the lower accommodations. Once below you will land on at a large foyer that leads to three guest cabins all ensuite.
