Overview

The Offshore is a well-mannered and versatile pilothouse cruising yacht with spacious two stateroom interior. Classic and beamy, she rides softly in all-weather thanks to her William Crealock hull design. With an extended boat deck, Chapter 8 offers excellent weather protection to her aft deck. Offshore is known for their attention to detail, quality construction, and beautiful teak interiors. 

The current owners chose this yacht (their 2nd Offshore) as it is easily operated by a couple with full walk around covered decks, cockpit control station, and a bow thruster. Access to docks is very flexible with 2 gates from the bow section that allow easy on/off at high fixed docks, side doors that provide excellent access for low floating docks, and a transom door offering aft access from the swim platform. You won’t find more useable interior room in any 48’ yacht, in fact it rivals the useable space of several 55’ yachts while still fitting in a 50’ slip.

A Seawise electric hydraulic davit that stores the dinghy on the swim platform offers super easy launching of the Novurania 335 RIB with 25 Hp Yamaha 4 stroke motor. It only takes 1 person 30 seconds to launch or retrieve with this awesome system. The dinghy can also be stored on the boat deck using the 600 lb. crane. The dinghy has a Lorance Elite TI chart plotter, with built in GPS, fish finder, temperature, and depth finder. A built in 8-gallon fuel tank supplies enough range for multiple days of exploring.

Air draft of 18’ 5” with antennas down will allow the yacht to pass under the lowest bridge on the great loop in Chicago, making this and excellent choice for cruisers doing the loop!

Extensive upgrades to many systems have been done over the last 2.5 years as listed in the schedule below, as well as excellent maintenance including new after-coolers at the Caterpillar 1000-hour service. This yacht is in top condition and ready to take you on any adventure you have planned.

Cockpit

A large aft cockpit with teak cap rail and rod holders allows for an excellent outdoor living space including an electric BBQ, deep sink with new faucet & sprayer, with storage cabinets underneath. There is a cockpit shower, locking key locker, and 50-amp shore power connector, & fresh water wash-down. On the starboard side is the cockpit control station featuring wheel, engine and thruster controls, making backing into a slip a breeze. Sunbrella covers for teak cap rail.

Salon

A wide door from the cockpit brings you into the comfortable saloon with large windows providing excellent views while seated, giving the saloon a fresh open feeling. All new upholstery with U shaped seating for 6 around a beautiful Hi-Lo table is to port. To starboard is a cabinet with new Yamaha 560 Internet/Bluetooth ready AM/FM stereo receiver (piped throughout the yacht), blue-ray player, Genie DVR Direct TV receiver, and room for a shoe basket. Moving forward is a new cabinet with electric lift featuring a new Samsung 42” smart TV, after which is a barrel chair with ottoman underneath. There is teak & holly flooring throughout the yacht with bound carpeting protecting it throughout the yacht. New LED valance lighting. Digital A/C & Heat controls with dehumidifier mode. Textline plus exterior covers for all windows.

Galley and Interior

The galley is equipped with full sized double door refrigerator with ice and water on the door with teak fronts. A 3 burner Kenyon glass cook-top with exhaust fan and lighting overhead & spice cabinet behind. There are lots cabinets in the galley featuring pullout shelving.  There is a large opening window for fresh air and a view. New Moen sensor faucet, new garbage disposal, 3 stage water filtration system supplying a separate facet at the sink, as well as the refrigerator ice maker and water, convection microwave, and a trash compactor complete the galley. Across from the galley is a large serving bar with pull out cabinets and drawers providing an amazing amount of storage.

Pilothouse

The Pilothouse has excellent visibility in all directions. The lower helm features dual captain’s chairs allowing the first mate to be actively involved in navigation and piloting. There is a settee with table which has a folding leaf. There are port and starboard access doors to the wide side decks. Looking aft one has excellent visibility. Plus, there is a serving counter and pass through from the galley. The electronics are very recent and complete including a wi-fi system that lets you mirror and control the 2 Simrad screens from the flybridge or lower helm unit on your tablet, laptop, or phone (handy for anchor watch in your stateroom!). Up 5 stairs from the Pilothouse is interior access to the flybridge. On the starboard side is a spiral staircase leading to the staterooms and guest head.
