Overview

FREEDOM is a one owner 65’ Outer Reef, with extensive equipment, excellent range, upgraded 865hp Caterpillar C-15’s, twin generators, 2000 gallon fuel capacity, 25hp bow and stern thrusters with proportional controls, upgraded stabilizers, very complete electronics and AV package, king amidships master with two other large staterooms, on deck head, custom additional storage areas, huge flybridge with large boat deck, covered aft deck, spacious salon and galley, and a professionally done painted flag blue hull with white superstructure. An excellent sea boat and live aboard yacht, easily handled by a cruising couple.

COMPLETELY AWLGRIPPED IN 2011.

WALKTHROUGH

FREEDOM was built with the maximum volume available in a 65’ cruising yacht. She has dual teak covered staircases from her extended teak covered swim platform which lead up to a fully covered aft deck. The aft deck has built in seating with storage below and with additional storage lockers on both sides of the seating area. A beautiful custom teak table allows for alfresco dining, and wing doors on the port and starboard sides forward on the aft deck simplify adding a full enclosure.

The main salon is entered through double doors on the aft deck. Immediately to port is an L shaped sofa that was extended to allow maximum seating and a full body reclining massage chair.  In  front of the built in L shaped sofa is a very large ottoman with storage. On the starboard side as you enter there is a leather barrel chair and  an extended custom cabinetry that houses a rising large flat screen television and moving forward a cabinet with a lifting top that currently holds an electric piano keyboard, and easily can convert to a desk with storage cabinets to one side. Overhead teak strapping, and attractive window treatments along with a rich teak interior and four sconces provide a comfortable relaxing atmosphere.

Forward and up to steps is the galley which has upgraded appliances, a large window and window treatments. All counters were upgraded to granite with optional granite backsplashes. Opposite the galley is an on deck head, with a large window, a very nice feature not often found on a 65’ Yacht.

The Pilothouse does have a door to close off the area for night travel or privacy. There is a large comfortable L-shaped Settee with a custom hinged table which opens to create a very large dining table. A center upgraded Stidd helm chair is mounted over the teak flooring and there are port and starboard opening pilothouse doors with Phantom screens. The electronics console is home to an extensive electronics package. A comfortable staircase to starboard leads up to the flybridge, and forward also on the starboard side a staircase leads down to the staterooms.

The VIP stateroom with lengthened Queen Berth is located forward with spacious drawer storage below and two hanging lockers port and starboard. There is a walk in closet to accommodate both owners and their guests requirements. This stateroom has an ensuite head with granite counter and storage plus a spacious shower.

Aft of the VIP and to port is a guest cabin with a double berth below and single berth above for maximum utilization, and opposite this cabin there is a full sized stacked washer and dryer.

The Master is amidships, with substantial storage in end tables and in drawers under a king berth. There is no other 65’ Yacht Series that offers what FREEDOM has for storage in the Master. The are two full height walk in hanging lockers, and on the aft bulkhead drawers and  lockers that are over 30” deep, plus below the large flat screen TV opposite the king berth there is a dresser with drawers. The ensuite head to port has a compartmentalized head with closing door, twin sinks with granite counter and a large medicine cabinet.  The shower is large enough to also have an area with seating. Below the master, between the berth and the dresser is an opening hatch,  which leads to a sub floor with a coin dot flooring providing abundant storage.

Behind a teak door in the master amid ships there is an additional watertight door which leads into the full height engine room, that has excellent access for maintenance of the engines, generator, hydraulic systems, water maker, etc.

At the aft end of the engine room is another watertight door which leads to a workshop area with work bench and considerable storage, plus a head and shower. This area can also be accessed from the transom door.

The Outer Reef flybridge is full width with a hardtop over the helm and the Stidd center chair and double Stidd for guests plus storage under the L-shaped seating port and starboard with tables. The position of the flybridge over the pilothouse not only maximizes forward visibility, but additionally provides a huge area of storage under the flybridge cowling.  The entire flybridge mold including the boat deck  and non skid deck comes from a one piece mold with no caulking to discolor or gelcoat cracking, Additionally, like the rest of this yacht which was two part epoxy painted with Imron in late 2011, the condition of this area is like new. Aft of the seating and down two steps, there is a built in deck box and fridge icemaker to port and a sink with storage below and full size stainless LP grill serviced by two twenty pound propane tanks. The boat deck, also the largest found on a 65’ yacht, also has an upgraded fully hydraulic davit, scooter, and 430DL Novurania with 60hp four stroke Yamaha outboard.

On the foredeck there is an opening door to the Portugese bridge, which along with the high bulwarked and covered walk around decks provides excellent safety at sea. Those side decks have opening gate doors opposite the pilothouse, on the aft deck, and another pair leading down to the swim platform area which allows easy boarding. The standard vertical Maxwell windlass was upgraded to a horizontal duel capstan windlass with separate 300 foot sections of chain and two anchors. A stainless breastplate also protects the bow when the anchors are lifted.

BROKER'S REMARKS

FREEDOM is a one owner yacht, which also had the benefit of complete new paint job in 2011, and her flag blue hull,  white superstructure, and Moondust colored non skid decks, allow her to show more like an almost new vessel. The 65’ Outer Reef series, has  the largest flybridge of any similar profile yacht, with excellent visibility at both upper and lower stations and a large boat deck for her tender. Additionally no other long range cruising yacht has the volume of storage as FREEDOM, which was further enhanced in this particular 65’ Outer Reef, with a large walk in storage area to service both the master and VIP staterooms. The Master has a king berth, and two walk in hanging  lockers, and the third cabin boasts a double with a single berth above. In combination with a covered aft deck, spacious salon,  galley with full size appliances, on deck head, large pilothouse, 2000 gallon fuel capacity,  twin generators, stabilizers, hydraulic 25hp bow and stern thrusters, large stand up work room area and engine room, this yacht provides a cruising couple and their guests exceptional sea keeping and live aboard qualities. Recent maintenance includes bottom paint in April 2015, full engine servicing by Caterpillar summer 2015 and upgrades to exhaust and systems on generators November 2015. Built for owner operation, with high bulwarks and covered side decks,  the systems onboard including wireless remote controls for ease of docking. The standard 500hp engines were upgraded to the 865hp C15 Caterpillar series, which allows for higher speeds when required, but still provide moderate fuel burn  and range at hull speeds of 9-10 knots. FREEDOM is ready to take you to your dream destination.
