Their boats are nearly always the best styled in their class; the finish is top notch; and strong resale values help justify their premium cost. All of these characteristics—and more—apply to the 282 Sportfish, a classy 28-footer whose Carolina-style bow flare, broker sheer, and rounded aft hull tumblehome are unique in a production center console boat. Standard features include cushioned forward seating, forward 416-quart insulated fish box and 165-quart stern fish box, port and starboard 35-gallon livewells, bait prep station with sink and tackle storage, and a console head compartment with sink and opening port. Rod storage on the boat includes four flush-mount rod holders aft, two more in the bow, horizontal rod storage, and rocket launchers mounted on the factory T-top. Additional standard features include dual swim platforms, cockpit courtesy lights, and a locking electronic storage compartment in the dash. Note the 282’s recessed bow rails, pop-up cleats, and unusual gunwale fish boxes. Excellent range for a boat this size. Yamaha 250s deliver close to 50 knots wide open.
