Overview

“Salt Heart” is unquestionably, the best-equipped Selene 53 offered on the brokerage market today. Her owner, an experienced mariner, is also an electrical engineer who has thoughtfully appointed Salt Heart with only the most technologically advanced equipment available. In the last year Salt Heart has undergone a major refit with over 200,000 invested in new equipment and systems upgrades. As a courtesy the owner has provided complete schematics for your review. (See full specs).

Salt Heart’s recent refit includes new Key Power hydraulic stabilizers (9 sq. ft. fins), Key Power hydraulic bow and stern thrusters and Glendening electronic engine controls with wing stations on the Portuguese bridge. She has new Furuno and Nobeltec Time Zero Navigation Systems with touch screens including two open array radars for complete redundancy. Also included are a Furuno DFF1 Sounder and an AMEC Class B AIS. Her onboard systems are monitored though a NMEA 2000 Maretron system with dual displays. Salt Heart’s power and charging systems were also upgraded with Lithionics lithium-ion battery banks (1320 amp hours) that are charged through a 320 amp Balmar 98-series cruising alternator. She has a new FCI MaxQ 1800 GPD water maker with dual displays, a new Viking 6 man life raft with ACR GPIRB. Her interior was also upgraded with new granite counters in the galley and new blinds in the salon. A work bench with vice and stainless steel tool box were also installed in the engine room for maintenance along with a Via air compressor and 5 gallon air tank for her new Buell Strombos horns. All service records and receipts are available upon request.

“Salt Heart” is powered by a Cummins 430 HP Diamond C Series Diesel with only 1660 hours and a 12 Kw Northern Lights Generator (604 hours). She has an extensive equipment inventory that includes a Kabola B-Tap Diesel Hydronic Furnace, an FCI 1800 GPD water maker, a 3 kW Xantrex Prosine Inverter/Charger, an Asko Washer and Dryer and a built in Grunert holding plate freezer in the commissary lazarette . Please see full specifications for complete details.

“Salt Heart” is equipped for long range cruising in style.  She has a comfortable C shaped dinette in the salon, a gourmet galley and a spacious pilothouse with three generous staterooms below decks featuring a mid-ship Master and VIP with island queen berths as well as two large heads with stall showers. The third guest stateroom doubles as an office with full size desk and chair. There is also a removable pullman bunk for an additional guest berth. Salt Heart’s interior teak joinery is exquisite with ebony inlays, polished granite counters and solid planked teak and holly soles. She has a warm inviting interior with crème leather upholstery and on the outside she has an attractive Roberts Grey AwlGrip hull with classic maroon boot stripes and teak decks that will attract attention in every port. Up on the flying bridge you and your guests can dine outside at the dinette under the protection of a custom stainless steel bimini frame. There is also a built in barbeque and sink opposite the flying bridge dinette for entertaining.

Throughout the world, Selene Ocean Trawlers are known for their solid construction, sea-kindly hull designs, and finely finished interior joinery. Salt Heart is an exceptional example of the Selene 53. She has been thoughtfully appointed and carefully maintained by her experienced owners who have recently decided on a larger Selene. Salt Heart presents an excellent value and opportunity at $849,000. Call today for a boarding appointment.
