Overview

The Silverton 50 Convertible is an excellent coastal cruiser with serious fishing capabilities.  She is a good-looking flybridge yacht whose versatile layout, spacious interior, and attractive price made her one of the bestselling boats in her class.  Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide 16’4” beam and prop pockets, Silverton sold a lot of these boats.  Her three-stateroom interior includes two double staterooms including a large amidships master with walkaround bed.  A comfortable salon features a solid cherry table, Bose stereo system, and an Ultraleather sofa with incliner and concealed rod storage.  The galley came standard with under-counter refrigeration and hardwood flooring.  Front windows-unusual in most modern convertibles-provide additional natural lighting in the forward area of the salon.  A hatch in the galley sole reveals a huge storage compartment.  A livewell, raw water washdown, freezer, transom door, and engine room access door are found in the cockpit.  Note the molded flybridge steps.  Volvo 715hp D-12 Diesels cruise in the mid to high 20’s.

Salon

Where the exterior of the 50 Convertible is serious substance, the interior is sumptuous style.  The Silverton designers realized that when you play in the big leagues, buyers have certain expectations.  The accoutrements and attention to detail in this boat are a level above anything the company has offered before.

Noted interior designer Theresa De Ponceau created an exquisite décor.  The warm feel of cherry wood is the continuing theme throughout the cabin space. 

The main salon’s overhead is artfully focused on a circular light fixture at its center and has contrasting fabric panels radiating outward.  The 50’s size means that there was no need to compromise when arranging the ample salon seating.

Abaft the galley, there’s an L-shaped Ultraleather lounge.  The section that faces the bow is an incliner.  In the long side, you have a large storage compartment.
