Overview

The 118 ft Classic Gaff Yawl Sailing Yacht ROSALIND was designed by Harry Thomas Stow and built by Stow & Sons in 1904. The Shoreham based shipyard, famous for constructing other significant yachts such as RONA, built ROSALIND using the finest techniques and materials, Burma teak on solid oak frames.

The first owner Charles Hellyer sold the yacht to John E Humphrey in 1908, four years later ROSALIND was sold to Oswald Cecil Mahuiac, a member of the Royal Yacht Squadron who sailed with her for 22 years. In 1936 the ownership was passed onto J.B. Darlymple, who moored her discreetly in Scotland during World War II, always afloat to keep the Admiralty away from her precious lead keel.

The current owners love this classic yacht and have shown it by maintaining her to the highest standard. Every detail of this yacht speaks of quality and perfection, both above and below deck. ROSALIND can be sailed by a crew of 5 thanks to her powered winches.
