Overview
The IMX-40 is perhaps, the most winning IMS racer/cruiser of her size and type ever built. She also offers excellent accommodations for the yacht club cruise or offshore racing and she is chock full of amenities. She's great for a large family with three private cabins, sleeping eight total not including the main salon. Main Salon
Two longitudinal sette/berths with hinged backrest cushions on plywood plates each with Lee cloth. Outboard of the settee's are two shelves. Removable main cabin table with central box for bottles and with two hinged panels slided onto U-shaped stainless steel tube section bolted to the steel keel girder. Freeboard lined with clear varnished mahogany with grooves.
Accommodations
Nice accommodation for comfortable family cruising or offshore regatta's, large v-berth and 2 spacious aft cabins (w/additional pipe-berths), large main saloon and one head w/shower.

Navigation Station
Navigation table with forward facing seat. Space underneath for charts and navigational equipment. 3 drawers below the chart table - and storage space below the hinged cushion for the nav seat. Electrical switch board and space for additional electronic equipment.
Head
Moulded GRP floor section with drain/outlet led to central keel bilge. Manual marine toilet with easy access to seacocks for outlet and seawater inlet. Holding tank with "Y" valve for offshore discharge. Moulded GRP wash basin/table top with mixer tap for hot and cold pressurized freshwater. Mirror mounted at the hinged door towards main cabin. Mast
Tapered carbon mast and aluminum boom. 1 halyard sheave for main, 2 sheaves forward for spinnaker halyards, clevis pin for perm backstay. Single Genoa sheave box in s/s below forestay tang with low friction sheave. 3 sets of tapered airfoil alloy spreaders- sitting on machined alloy spreader bars. Windex and light at mast head, PVC tube for additional mast head equipment, engine steaming light. 4 halyard exits with messengers. Black anodized alloy gooseneck bracket with sail attachment and reefing hooks. Black anodized alloy vang bracket with attachment for rod vang and purchase blocks. Black anodized alloy mast step, with attachments for deck tie rods, securing bolt through section
Engine
Freshwater cooled, 40 HP 3 cylinder diesel Volvo MD 2040-S with S-drive installation, mounted on shock absorbing rubber mounts at the GRP moulded engine bed.
Filter on water intake and water separation filter on the fuel supply. Engine compartment in a moulded - 3 part GRP box, sound insulated with fireproof closed cell foam. The engine is easy to access by removing the front part and the 2 aft parts - one in each aft cabin. The stainless steel engine lever arm is built into recessed area in starboard side of cockpit by helmsman.
The engine panel with acoustic alarm for temperature and battery charging is built into the moulded wheel pedestal.
