Construction

Like all recent Horizons the hull, deck and superstructure of XANADU was constructed using the licensed SCIMP process that produces stronger, lighter components with a superior mat to resin ratio with no voids. Her bottom is solid fiberglass but the above waterline areas have a high density foam core. The underwater portion of the hull is treated with the International Paint system for osmosis protection. Exterior surfaces are finished in bright white gelcoat.
This particular Horizon benefited from being overseen in both design and construction by a very experienced project manager.
