With her spacious accommodations and extensive inventory of upscale amenities, the 466 Motor Yacht took Carver’s concept of cruising comfort to the next level when she was introduced in 2001. There’s an astonishing amount of living space in the 466; by elevating the side decks to eye level, Carver designers were able to give this yacht an enormous full-width salon whose dimensions rival your average 55-footer.
Like all Carvers, the 466 rides on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide beam and moderate transom deadrise. Her two-and-a-half-stateroom floorplan (a midberth is under the salon settee) is arranged with the mid-level galley separated from the salon by a serving counter. The full-beam salon— trimmed with varnished cherry woodwork—is huge with seating for a small crowd and a dinette area forward. The fore and aft staterooms are fitted with queen berths (note that the berth in the master suite faces aft), and each head has a separate stall shower.
Additional features include an aft-deck hardtop, wing doors, and a large flybridge with seating for eight. Twin 480hp Volvo diesels cruise the 466 MY at 20 knots (low 20s top).
Whether relaxing on the aft deck or bridge, or entertaining guests in the surprisingly roomy salon, owners will enjoy the way the Carver 466 Motor Yacht pampers. The generously sized bridge features a wraparound lounge with ample seating for four, plus an adjustable helm seat, two companion swivel chairs, and an ultra-stylish control console that provides abundant space for electronics.
An integral stairway leads to the spacious aft deck where entertaining is a pleasure, with a hardtop that covers the entire deck, a skylight, a wet bar that includes bottle storage, and a transom door that can be conveniently secured open or closed. Below decks, the salon is exceptionally large, thanks to the additional space created by the 466's raised side decks.
The striking decor and luxurious furnishings include an entertainment group with TV, VCR and stereo, an UltraLeather lounge with recliners, and a solid-surface snack bar. Elegant cherry wood cabinetry and trim adds a dash of extra style. Three staterooms and two head compartments deliver privacy and comfort for everyone.
