Overview

Happy Ours was built in 1988, the first year the Carver Santego was introduced. The model was considered an economical family cruiser, with a spacious interior. She is built on a solid fiberglass hull, and her salon sole sits low in her hull, which lowers her center of gravity and makes the ride on her bridge more comfortable. She is: a weekend vessel for a family, a cruiser for a couple, and a great day boat out on the water or at the dock. This is a fresh water vessel . She was purchased in Evansville, IN in 2020 by her current owner, who trailered her to the Caloosahatchee River, just west of Lake Okeechobee in Florida. The owner loved being aboard Happy Ours so much that he has moved up to a larger vessel to live aboard full-time. Now is the time to make Happy Ours yours.

MAIN DESCRIPTION

1988 Carver Santego 2767 Cockpit, Deck, Hull, Brid

There are teak steps on either side of the cockpit, which make boarding Happy Ours easier.  A door in the transom, to starboard, leads to the swim platform, which has a teak swim ladder.  A custom generator box on the swim platform was designed to create steps from the transom door.  The cockpit is carpeted.  There is a seat across the stern, with storage behind.  (The cockpit photos show the seat removed.)  A wood flag pole is mounted on the transom.

The cockpit has a blue bimini top with a full "camper" canvas enclosure (which is not shown in the photos).  A ladder, with teak steps, leads from the cockpit to the bridge.  Access to the engine compartment is through hatches in the sole of the cockpit.

The carpeted bridge has an L-shaped settee to port, with the helm station to starboard.  The settee is white vinyl with blue piping.  The sliding helm chair is white and blue vinyl, and has a bolster for comfort while driving.  There is a full enclosure on the bridge, as well as an acrylic windscreen.  There are four opening eisenglass windows on Happy Ours; two are forward, and one each to port and starboard.  There are cups holders mounted for both the Captain and the passengers.

The bow pulpit has a spotlight, a Lewmar anchor windlass, and anchor.  There are two Bomar hatches on the foredeck.  There are snaps for bow sun pads, but no bow pads are included.

1988 Carver Santego 2767 Accommodations

The interior on Happy Ours is three steps down from the cockpit, to starboard through a sliding glass door which has a full screen.  The stairs are carpeted.  The headliner of the interior is light grey carpeting.  There is a parquet wood sole.  The fabric on all of the soft goods is a very colorful peacock feather pattern, and all of the hard surface accents are dark blue.  The electric panel, with a solid door, is near the entry.  A large Bowmar hatch, with a screen, is in the ceiling of the salon.

Happy Ours is heated and cooled by a Marine Aire reverse cycle air conditioner/heater.

The galley is to starboard, and features: a dark blue counter surface, a deep stainless steel sink, a Seaward Princess Ceran 2 burner electric/alcohol range, a Norcold refrigerator with a freezer compartment, and a free-standing Galanz microwave oven.  The galley storage includes: a double cabinet under the sink, two cabinets behind the counter with sliding doors, a shelf cabinet over the refrigerator, four drawers next to the refrigerator, and two flip-up cabinets.

A curving grey vinyl settee is forward in the salon.  Happy Ours is outfitted with a two leg-post sliding table, which conveys with the vessel but is not shown in the photos.  It is ideal for indoor dining.  Access to the air conditioning unit and the hot water heater are under the settee.

The V Berth on Happy Ours features: a dark blue covered mattress, a Bowmar hatch with a screen, a ceiling light with two directional lights, flip-up storage cabinets, and a mirrored headboard/anchor locker hatch.  The edge of the salon windows reaches into the V berth for some additional natural light.

The head on Happy Ours is to port.  The "wet" head features: a Raritan Purasan system, a Dometic electric head updated when the Purasan was installed, a large mirror on the door, an exhaust fan, a bowl sink, a curtained window, lighting, storage, a hand-held wet-head shower head, and a shower pump.  The Purasan system is in the salon locker.

The convertible berth on Happy Ours is aft.  It is a settee when not pulled out into a large berth.  The same decorator fabric is on the settee and pillows, as well as the sliding curtains on the large aft window that looks out to the cockpit.  There is also a full dark blue privacy curtain for when the area is used as a berth, which stores in a locker when not in use.  There are storage cabinets in the bulkhead wall.
