Overview

This 2004 Chris Craft 28 Corsair is beautiful in every regard. The boat is owned by a very experienced yachtsman, and owner of a renown yacht maintenance yard in Solomons, Maryland. This same yard is the authorized Volvo engine and outdrive dealer and factory service provider. The vessel has recieved very fine care and at tention to detail.

The hull was Awlgripped the exact color blue that the factory built her, June 2013. She absolutly looks brand new. This vessel comes with a substaintial three axel trailer that has had very little use, but that is ready for highway operation. All that coupled with the low engine hours makes this vessel a must see.

She started out life in Michigan in fresh water with short seasonal use, and stored inside over the winter. She was moved to the Chesapeake Bay in 2010 where she has been lift kept and stored inside over the winter months. The boat has less than 375 engine hours.

Accommodations

The Corsair 28 will stop you in your tracks as you walk by one. That is how good they look. If you are the owner of one, you know what I mean; people are always asking, "what is that" or saying "waht a beautiful boat' or simply giving your the thumbs up.

She is a great day boat with over-night capabilities. She can creek crawl or get up and go with no effort at all. She is strong, fast, dry and reasonably economical at speeds under 35 mph......

Starting at the stern, there is a boarding ladder, between the two outdrives, to the swim platform. Forward of that is a cushioned area to relax; forward that id the large cockpit with wonderful seating accomodations. The cockpit may be covered by a bimini top that in normally hidden away, out of sight under the engine compartment lid. The helm is forward to starboard with a buddy seat to port. There is a entertainment center behind the helm seat with refrigerator, storage space, and sink with pressure water system.

The center section of the windshild opens to allow passage forward to the foredeck. The folding louvered door opens to allow entry into the forward cabin. Two people can easily and in comfort overninght in the cabin. It has storage lockers and there is a Vacu-Flush head under  t center section of the V-berths.

Deck & Hull

This Corsair 28' is fresh, and looks as if new. She has had the best of care and most recently the hullsides a new paint "Awlgrip" job. The Awlgrip will stay high gloss for a decade with little nore than a fresh water wash down (do not use any wax on the hullsides).

The current owner also had a laid cork deck installed in the cockpit. It looks similar to teak but has several advantages. Since cork is made up of a millions of tiny air cells it is much more comfortable to stand on. Cork requires zero maintenance. It will not stain if a nut or potato chip is ground into it. It requires no oil to stay looking good. It will not weather and turn gray. At the time of the installation, the helm seat was moved back 4" making it easier to stand at the wheel.

The toe rails were stripped and varnished this spring.

Electric windlass with stainlass steel anchor.

Canvas cockpit cover.

This boat spent the first six years of it's life in Michigan where the water is fresh and the boating season is short. It lived in a covered boatel when not in use. Since that time the boat has been kept on a lift here in the Chesapeake Bay an has spent the winters inside the the owners boat yard.

Mechanical

Within the past 75 hours use the following has been performed: New serpentined belts installed; water pump impellers installed six hours ago (371 -350 hours); installed new clutch cones in the ouutdrives; preformed bellowectomy on both drives; replaced shift and throttle cables with Mach 5 cables.

Single lever controls.
