Overview

Timeless styling and extraordinary volume. The 130.09ft /39.65m Custom expedition 'Arionas' was built in 1967 by Clelands Shipbuilding Co and last refitted in 2011. Previously named Charisma her luxurious interior is designed by Bannenberg Designs LTD.

ARIONAS

 

ARIONAS stands out in the class of the few large British built yachts still afloat. Herself being a rare piece of living history, she underwent a complete renovation in 2011 whereby a team of professional craftsmen skilfully restored her, carefully using their knowledge and experience. From sourcing precious woods to using high quality steel and applying innovative paint solutions or new technology available, no opportunity has been missed to aim for the best. The results are impressive and ARIONAS is now a showcase for the robust reliability of her original mechanics, seamlessly combined with modern elements.

Launched in 1967 by Clelands Shipbuilding of Wallsend (a yard regarded then as the UK flagship for English ship construction), hull number 294 was named SUVRETTA II and first cruised in the North Sea. At the time, her interior was created by H Robson & KF Cragg, and was later further improved by a team of top designers at Bannenberg Ltd. While undergoing various name changes, from CHARISMA to CHARISMA A and then to ARIONAS, several prominent owners and charterers have been lucky enough to enjoy this iconic yacht, most notably Sir David Brown, also the owner of Aston Martin and Vosper Thorneycroft.

 

Today, ARIONAS is still powered by her original Rolls Royce engines and maintained in pristine condition throughout by her enthusiastic and proud crew.
