Overview

Sapphira is a 1977 Caribbean Sailing Yacht 44 Walkover that has cruised extensively in the Atlantic Ocean and along the eastern seaboard. CSY Yachts are constructed of solid fiberglass up to 1 and a half inches thick and other than stringers and cabinetry, there is no wood in the boat.Her owner has modified the boat for single hand sailing and the canvas and isinglass surrounding the cockpit provide a welcome retreat from cold and rough conditions. CSY sailing yachts were used extensively in the charter fleet business so the cockpit is very spacious and the visibility from the helm is good. There is plenty of room below to gather together and the separate aft master cabin with unsuited head is comfortable and very private. If you dream of setting off into the sunset with friends or perhaps living aboard with the option to weigh anchor and disappear at will then come see Saphirra.

1977 CSY 44 Walkover Saphira Walk through

Saphira is boarded through an amidship opening to wide side decks leading fore and aft. The aft deck is open and has room for storage and equipment. The center cockpit has ample seating for guests and crew and the helm position is center aft. There is a companionway leading down into the aft master stateroom. The aft master has a large perimeter berth, chart table with storage, and head with shower. There is a separate companionway going forward that leads to the galley and salon. The forward passageway leads to the forward guest head, and forward vee berth.

1977 CSY 44 Walkover Saphira Accommodations

The CSY 44 Walkover was used in the charter business because of its room and comfort for couples and groups of people. The master berth is in the stern through the aft companionway. There is a chart table with storage to starboard, a large parameter berth, full en-suite head with sink, shower, manual head and vanity, three rectangular ports in the stern, two rectangular ports port and starboard, overhead hatch, storage lockers, and teak and holly soles.
     The forward companionway leads down to the salon and galley. There is built in corner seating that surrounds a six person galley table to port, and built in lounge seating to starboard. There are multiple storage cabinets along the hull and under the seats.
     The forward cabin has large vee berth with insert, wood slatted walls, four round ports and overhead hatch. There are built in drawers and lockers under the bunk and along the hull sides. There is a private entry leading to the head where there is an electric toilet (new in 2015), shower head, vanity and sink.

The L shaped galley on Saphira is to port at the bottom of the companionway and is open for multiple cooks to work in. It features:
  • Three burner, gas Force 10 gimbled stove and oven
  • Single stainless steel sink
  • Hot and cold pressurized water

  • Manual and electric ice boxes with keel cooled refrigeration
  • Under and over counter storage cabinetry
  • Oval shaped brass ports

The engine on Saphira is a 2011 Beta 85 with about 2500 hours. it is left hand rotation, has a 125 amp alternator, is fresh water cooled, and has a hydraulic transmission.
