The famous 12 Mt. America’s Cup Class “VIM” was commissioned by Harold S. Vanderbilt in 1938 and designed by Sparkman & Stephens.
Probably the most innovative 12 Mt A.C.C built before the second world war “VIM” was the first 12 Mt. equipped with rod rigging and aluminium spar package.
Despite she was built to be an all-out racehorse VIM provides a stunning open space interior in light colour wood and white panels, the classic American style.
VIM was to remain the standard by which all other 12 Mt A.C.C would be measured for the next twenty years.
Completely refitted with no budget limits in 2003 by his new enthusiast Owner at “Cantiere Navale dell’Argentario”, she is in immaculate condition and still racing in the most important Classic Yachts regattas
