Overview

 Aquila is a superb example of the highly regarded Hylas 49. She is one of the finest, best maintained and equipped examples of the very popular and successful S&S 49 design. Aquila was delivered to California when new to her original and current owners. Their cruising plan has taken them through the Panama Canal, up the East Coast of the US throughout the Caribbean and then over to Europe for a couple of years, returning to the US in Spring 2012.

The spacious three stateroom accommodation features a large master cabin aft with centerline queen berth and en suite head, comfortable salon and offshore galley and navigation center for live-aboard and passage making. Aquila has all the valued luxury options including a generator, air conditioning, electric mainsail furling, primary winches, bow thruster, washer and dryer, water maker, solar panels and Raymarine electronics.

Accommodations

The spacious three stateroom accommodation plan includes a large private aft master stateroom with ensuite head, two comfortable guest cabins forward with second head, large salon and galley, and proper navigation center. Aquila’s exquisite varnished teak interior woodwork has many attractive joinery details. The cabin sole is varnished teak and holly.

The main salon is amidships with custom L shaped settee to port with storage outboard of backrests. Teak dining table with adjustable height pedestal, also converts to double berth. A unique design feature enables the dining table to fold and reduce to cocktail size. Full length straight settee to starboard that can pull inboard for a larger sea berth. Storage compartments above and outboard of settee backrests includes two lockers outboard of each settee and shelf between.
