General Comments and Accommodations


MATAKAOMA was inspected in November,  2014 and found to be in superb condition.  Her fit and finish is world class and reflects the Dutch lineage of her construction.  This owner and previous owners have maintained and upgraded this yacht to a very high level over the years.  She is fitted with a Carbon rig and boom allowing for better performance.   The history of her recent upgrading includes a huge refit in the UK in 2008 and thereafter 3 years of non use until in 2012 the current owner performed another substantial refit in Sweden and paid EU VAT.  Finally this last summer at Lyman Morse in Maine, USA, she was completed repainted, her bottom stripped and recoated and her teak decks renewed.
  There is no Jongert 2700 worldwide in this condition and at this ready to be sold price!


 The JONGERT 2700 model is a well tested, comfortable and very strong Aluminum Pilothouse sailing yacht built to the high standards of Dutch shipbuilding.  The all Aluminum construction is very well prepared and assembled such that now some 15 years later this yacht shows no deterioration in any structural areas what so ever.  All interior aluminum is prepared and coated with a special noise retardant paint as well as foam insulation above waterline.    Ideal design for high latitude sailing in Patagonia or Northern regions as well as Tropical latitudes.  Pilothouse with full controls in addition to deck controls.  Bow and Stern Thrusters.  


 



GENERAL DECK LAYOUT- The deck Layout includes an aft steering cockpit with twin steering pedestals and instrument pods on the aft deck with comfortable seats and full access to sheets and sailing controls.  The forward cockpit is arranged as a well protected sunken dining and seating area aft and full driving station forward to starboard with chart additional charter and watch position to port.  The hard center cockpit pilothouse has windows forward and a sliding opening / closing section aft allowing for all weather sailing and comfort.   

INTERIOR- From the center cockpit there is a wide teak staircase companionway down into the main saloon area.  The entire interior is finished in rich teak veneer which is in remarkably good condition.  

CREW and GALLEY -  Forward there is a large wrap around galley with crew mess table and seating area opposite.  The galley has recent vintage Miele appliances, corion counters and very large commercial grade standup type front opening Refrigerator / Freezers.  The crew accommodations include 1 double lower berth and one upper berth in one cabin to starboard and a full head and separate shower to port.  

SALOON - full beam with 2 opening port lights either side allowing in plenty of light and ventilation if desired.  To port there is a semi-circular seating arrangement with solid teak table and seating for 4-6 plus outside seating for 2 more using loose chairs.   To port there is a large easy chair and reading library with a teak and glass buffet.  

GUEST Cabins- Aft of the saloon there are 3 double staterooms each with head and separate showers as well as opening port lights and over head hatches.  The MASTER is aft and full beam with a centered queen bed, large hanging locker storage, a settee and full head with separate full size shower.   The 2 GUEST Cabins include 2 single berths in each, storage and a full size head and shower.  All cabins have very tall headroom and rich well maintained teak finish.   

Interior woodwork and finish is to high level Dutch standards and in remarkable condition for the age of the yacht.  Cozy, safe and inviting yacht finished interior. 

Refits- 2008/2012/ 2014


2008 Refit in UK:

The vessel underwent a major engineering refit in 2008/09 comprising of: a new engine, new Hundersted drive control with a variable pitched propeller for efficient fuel consumption and enhanced engine performance. There was also a complete refit of the interior soft furnishings and installation of new electrical equipment. The Hull and substructure were also repainted in 2008. Also, the vessel had all new electrical equipment installed in 2008. Over £800,000 was spent on this refit in the UK. The Captain oversaw all aspects of the refit with the owner to ensure that it was completed on time.
