Jupiter boats are built under the direction of Carl Herndon, Jupiter's president. Herndon is best known as the founder and CEO of Blackfin Yacht Corporation and former president of Bertram Yacht where he earned the reputation for building some of the world's best and most respected sportfishing yachts. The Jupiter team includes many of the same experienced managers and skilled craftsmen who have worked with Carl over the years in a proven tradition of providing maximum offshore performance, superior quality, and meticulous craftsmanship in the boats they build.
Jupiter's outstanding performance is due primarily to its exclusive "Posi-Stern" hull pad design. This unique feature creates a variable dynamic stern lift that increases efficiency by providing a perfect running angle at all times, resulting in higher speeds, sharper turns, increased fuel economy and a smoother ride with no loss of visibility from the helm.
Hardcore fans of the Jupiter 31 know that the deep-V hull, which was designed by Donald Blount and Associates, has 60-degrees of deadrise forward which transitions to 24 degrees at the transom. This provides a smooth entry and soft landing in a head sea. When running down sea, the dimensions forward prevent the bow from falling off and digging into the next wave, a motion that can stall forward momentum and create a wet and uncomfortable ride. The hull also features reverse chines that give the 31 a good deal of lift to keep the boat dry and aid acceleration.
On the water this gives Jupiter boats a distinct advantage over their competition. Compared to same length Regulators, a Jupiter with identical power has a sharper forward entry, more deadrise in the stern, weighs considerably more, and attains a higher top end speed which equates into more efficiency at cruise. And they are one tough sea boat that will charge on when many other manufacturers have to throttle back when the going gets rough.
