PRELIMINARY LISTING
A popular model with classic South Florida styling, the Luhrs 290 Open appeals to anglers seeking a pocket fisherman at an affordable price. She's built on a relatively lightweight modified vee hull with cored hullsides, a well flared bow and a wide 11' 6" beam. Her cockpit is large enough for a full size fighting chair and includes 2 in deck fishboxes, a transom door, and a smaller fish box built into the transom. The helm is located on the centerline (where visibility is excellent) and the entire bridge deck lifts up for easy access to the step down engine compartment. The cabin of the 290 is somewhat unique with an enclosed head all the way forward in the cabin and swing up berths over the port and starboard settees. A small galley is aft and the interior is nicely trimmed with teak. Notable features include a standard marlin tower with buggy top and controls, overhead electronics box, transom door, bait prep station, bow pulpit and side dumping exhausts. Overall a good riding, well appointed offshore fishing boat with comfortable cruising accommodations.
