Overview

LIBERTY CALL is a very well maintained Mainship Pilot II that was a Great Lakes boat until relocated to her covered slip in Clearwater, FL in 2012.  She is the hard top version of this popular model by Mainship and has had excellent ownership. 

Blending a little bit of retro, with true Down-East, the Mainship Pilot II Hardtop Sedan is a versatile, fuel efficient package, well-suited for some serious cruising and equally comfortable for dockside or at anchor entertaining.

Topsides

This Pilot 30 features the Sedan configuration – a hardtop with solid glass side windows, two overhead opening Bomar hatches with screens, two forward opening stainless steel ports with screens, and a center opening windshield, all in the comfort of a fully sheltered helm with great visibility in all directions. Two 12v fans are fitted in each forward corner of the pilothouse. Two JBL stereo speakers are fitted in each aft corner of the pilothouse ceiling (new 2015). 

Matching helm and companion pedestal seats are set port and starboard, with two long cushioned bench seats facing from each side. There’s plenty of storage below each bench seat for all types of gear. A 316L handrail is fitted along the centerline of the interior hardtop from forward to aft. 

Engine access is via a large gas assisted floor hatch in between the benches, allowing for complete access to all sides of the engine for maintenance. 

A three-piece drop curtain completes the weather protection for the pilothouse, with easy roll-up sides and center for cockpit access. Fitted inside window covers for the forward, side windows and overhead hatches. 

The cockpit is wide and uncluttered, with molded boarding steps on each side and a centerline transom door for swim platform access. 

The gunwales are wide enough to safely make way forward for handling lines, with high 316L side-rails, plus handrails along the hardtop

Accommodations

Step down the centerline cabin hatchway and find a convenient galley to port, enclosed head compartment to starboard and a cedar lined hanging locker forward of the head compartment. 

The galley includes a 12v Coolmatic top loading refrigerator, a single burner cooktop stove (propane), G.E. microwave oven, a deep ceramic sink, solid surface countertop and adequate shelving and storage in the galley. 

The head features all fiberglass construction, with a Vacu-Flush pedal operated toilet, single stainless steel sink, separate hand held shower with lots of enclosed storage cabinets. 

The dinette wraps around the center of the salon with beige ultra-leather seating, with a nicely designed drop leaf table ready to serve your twosome or foursome. The table is removable from its pedestal base and can be moved to a matching base in the pilothouse between the bench seats for outdoor dining. 

Forward, the berth seems short – until the backrest of the dinette drops to allow the aft third of the berth to extend to a full length, inner-spring mattress for two (size is between a full double and a queen). A smart space saving design. 

There’s plenty of headroom and the cherry interior provides a warm luxurious feel. Five opening stainless steel ports with screens, plus a large opening Bomar hatch with sliding screen and shade features, provide ample natural light and ventilation.
