Amazing boat and Ready to go!
The Jefferson 35 Marlago is a high-performance center console for anglers who place a premium on speed and offshore stability. The Marlago is relatively light for a 35 footer which results in faster acceleration and higher cruising speeds with smaller engines. The cockpit features built in bait prep center with fish boxes, coolers and custom seating.
Comments from the boat owner:
Brand new aluminum fuel tank made by Atlantis Welding on the east coast. I also strapped it in verses foaming in to avoid corrosion from the foam. All new hoses, clamps. and wiring throughout the boat. No old anything. There were no drain openings in the coffin and I placed two to drain into the bilge. The tank size was just like the original at 245 gallons. I have not used the boat except for one short run 10 miles out and back so don't have an exact burn figure. From what I gather from others in reading lots of forum posts, most get around 1.4-1.5 gpm at cruise speed in the thirties. Figures I have found are: 10-12 gph each at 4000 rpms: 12.5 gph each at 4800 rpms; WOT is 30 gph each. WOT on my boat ran 50 mph in the canal; it was heavy with full fuel tank and fresh water.
Featuring twin Mercury 275 Verados with only 35 hours each. Features a full upper helm, foldable for legal trailering. This boat has all the bells and whistles and was completely refitted to be a "keep forever boat". Unfortunately, life's plans have changed and I will not have time to use this awesome boat. This boat has not been used since it was completely redone. Recent Verado service by a 5 star Mercury dealer who went through with a "fine comb" to replace any and all potential areas of concern, upper end and lower end servicing and computer updates achieved.
Before I initally purchased the Marlago, much research went into the ride, performance and fish ability of this boat. No negatives can be found, only praises. The boat is very well built with solid fiberglass bottom, sides and gunnels with a Nida Core topside. The Marlago is a well-respected tournament kingfish boat. It has the reputation of being able to go fast, comfortably, in any type of sea condition. It rides fast, smooth and dry. At sea trial, the boat achieved 50 mph WOT running heavy, with a full fuel and water tank. Average full burn cruising at 4800 rpm is 10-13 gph each.
This is a complete refit and has been achieved with all new highest grade components throughout. Utmost care was taken to achieve the highest quality and perfection. The boat is stored indoors and out of the weather. In the refit, components were removed and replaced. All new hoses with heavy wall smooth bore used throughout with all stainless hose clamps, doubled where appropriate.
The new aluminum 245 gallon custom made fuel tank by Atlantic Welding is now strapped in place, not foamed in place as initial builders do, which causes corrosion. All thru hulls were replaced with bronze or stainless steel where appropriate and Marelon non-corroding valves installed for optimum life and maintenance. This boat features a forward cuddy for resting, sleep and excellent dry storage. Rod holders are on the wall in the cuddy. The new toilet is in the cuddy for privacy and ease of use. The holding tank has never been used. There are two forward ice chests which drain overboard. Forward seating is plentiful. The deck is diamond plate NidaCore for extreme durability, rigidity and awesome look. The all new helm layout is complimented by a custom created console by Nautical Designs. This console has the ability to be used as a very supportive leaning post or a flip seat for seating with foot bar. Under this flip seating is an ice chest for a quick refill at the helm. Access under the foot bar can be found to operate the valves for the lighted windowed live well in the console. There is custom aeration by Flow-Right and space to place an oxygen bottle if desired. Tackle storage abounds with 6 full drawers and 14 Plano slide out boxes in the side cabinets. Four rod holders, a fold table for tackle prep, more tackle storage with Plano boxes in the flip down table area for spools, hooks, pliers, gloves and hand gaff. The console provides slip free footing to access the full upper helm. The fish finding upper helm has complete controls, its own GPS networked to the system, canopy and aluminum diamond plating to stand on. The Garmin network allows full function of all parameters from any unit, including the Fusion system. The cockpit features in gunnel lighted rod holders, or gaff holders if you prefer, on each side of the boat. Two in deck fish hold boxes are drained in a compartment with a macerator pump and float switch. The gunnels feature a total of (8) Lee heavy duty 30 degree rod holders, four on each side. Each gunnel has an LD Marine 0 degree swivel rod holder for fighting fish in the holder or for deep dropping. Each gunnel port and starboard have Kristal electric reel plugs for plugging in your favorite electric reel near the 0 degree LD Marine rod holders. The transom has second lighted live well, a bait prep sink with removable tray and a separate wash sink. Ultra quality Scandvik faucets and hose bibs used throughout. The motors are mounted on an extended bracket for optimum performance. There are high end carbon fiber outriggers to troll easily as well as a downrigger for trolling in the deep or even pulling dredges.
The boat sits on a new triple axle drive on aluminum trailer featuring electric over hydraulic brakes on all 6 wheels. LED lighting. Wheels are aluminum for added value and appearance. The hubs have buddy bearings on each wheel for ease of lubrication maintenance. Transom savers are installed for optimal motor support.
The boat features all new electrical system featuring new wiring, panels and custom made switches. The wiring is all marine grade tinned wire by Anchor or Pacer with all connections heat shrunk and labeled throughout. Wiring is straight run and aircraft quality. Blue Seas panels and switches complete the system being energized with a 3 bank battery complex of 4 Lifeline AGM batteries. Lighting is all LED: extremely bright curved light bar for running at night, underwater lights, overhead and cockpit lighting by i2 Systems of blue, red and white to use in whatever color you choose at the time, cabin lights, live well lights, navigation lights and courtesy lights . Complete sound system by Fusion with Fusion amp and bass module.
