The 400SY, designed in conjunction with Volvo revolutionary Inboard Propulsion System (IPS), is a fast nimble and efficient mid-range cruiser with a joystick to make operating the boat in close quarters a real pleasure. She has the 500 Series IPS, 370hp twin diesels which cruise efficiently at 25 knots. This Monterey is kept on a lift and very well cared for. In June 2015, full servicing was completed including all heat exchangers; intercoolers removed, cleaned, and replaced; new steel pulley wheels (vast improvement over OEM plastic wheels); all filters, fluids changed. Drives were serviced and props conditioned March 2014. Records of all service done since boat purchased will show attention to detail. The owners have enjoyed the boat immensely but are looking for the “next boat”- a larger express cruiser.

Below decks this Monterey 40SY features two staterooms and two heads plus a settee that doubles as a sleeper.  She also has a full complement of galley and entertainment equipment. With cherry wood trim package, synthetic wood flooring, wood mini-blinds, designer furnishings and ample lighting, this boat is quite beautifully appointed. The salon is entered through a lockable sliding door, with a separate screen door, and three large teak entry steps. The salon/dinette is positioned to starboard and has nearly six and a half feet of headroom.  The salon is spacious and airy with a large skylight in the center of the overhead (with cover) and a side window with wooden blinds.  A settee with flip-out drink holders provides ample room to relax and still allow passage through the salon.  The sofa also converts to a comfortable bed for extra guests!
