Overview
115' Northcoast Motor Yacht MARBELLA II
In 2013-14 she received completely new light cherry cabinetry in all four staterooms, upper and lower foyers, pilothouse and the galley. In addition, any other woodwork that was not replaced was either refinished or reconditioned creating an attractive casually-sophisticated look.
A new 20 ton MarineAire chiller bank using soft-start scroll compressors replaced the original 15 ton unit and all 14 air handlers were either replaced or renewed.
Also during the most recent upgrade, new dimmable LED lighting was installed throughout the interior. In addition, all the furniture was replaced along with new carpeting, new marble flooring, new doors, new wall coverings and artwork. At the same time all soft goods were replaced. Additionally, the hot tub was replaced and a new teak deck was laid under the covered section of the flybridge. All exterior cushions, tables and weather covers were replaced from bow to stern.
Marbella II is ready to cruise today right down to the linens in the cabinets, wine in the coolers and current charts in the pilothouse!
Vessel Walkthrough
Continuing toward the main salon from the dining area you will find a large L-shaped bar on the aft-starboard side with two wine-colored swivel bar stools. The bar top is made of black granite and a wooden stemware rack hangs from the soffit above. A mirrored liquor display cabinet is built in along the aft wall next to the bar and will easily store 20-25 bottles or extra glassware. Equipment behind the bar consists of a 24-bottle wine chiller, an ice maker and a separate undercounter beverage refrigerator. All expected bar top blenders, mixers and accessories are present as well a small Keurig coffee maker.
Across from the bar is a comfortable seating area featuring an 8' custom upholstered couch along the port wall with a large matching chair to aft and a pair of designer lounge chairs forward. The seating is arranged around a contemporarily styled dark wenge wood cocktail table. Two additional occasional chairs are forward of the main seating area and can easily be brought back to join the main seating as needed. At the foremost section of the salon is a custom, cherry cabinet which houses the 50" LG flat screen TV on an electric lift. The wood treatments in the main salon are a combination of high gloss cherry with satin finished window surrounds and crown molding above. Forward of the bar to starboard is a 28-bottle red wine storage rack on a motorized lift topped with black granite. There is additional stemware storage on either side of the wine rack inside the cherry cabinetry.
Continuing aft from the salon, double stainless steel sliding doors with tinted glass open to the aft deck. Immediately, you will notice the 9' high gloss teak and mahogany-inlaid dining table and the large built-in upholstered bench seat beyond along the upper transom. There is additional seating in 4 large chairs with separate cushions. This table easily accommodates 8 or more guests. Ample dimmable lighting and stereo speakers overhead make this an ideal dining setting.
Access to the flybridge and boat deck above is via a stainless steel and teak ladder from the aft deck. Proceeding up the ladder, a 14' Novurania RIB with 60 hp Yamaha sits aft and a 2500 lb. davit is across to port. Just forward of the Novurania are a freestanding 7' synthetic rattan couch and a matching side chair with upholstered cushions. These pieces face a circular 6-7 person hot tub with a canvas cover. Further to port is a full-size Fisher-Paykell DCS propane barbeque and rotisserie, also with full cover.
Forward to starboard and up one step is a large L-shaped cushioned seating area for 4-6 guests around two custom teak and inlaid mahogany tables on polished stainless steel stanchions. Four additional freestanding teak side chairs with cushions provide seating for up to 10 around the tables. Directly across to port is the upper deck entertainment bar with four custom-made polished stainless steel fixed bar stools with upholstered seats. Behind the bar are a beverage refrigerator, ice maker, and bar sink with hot/cold water.
The noticeably large flybridge is a popular area that functions as both a navigation/steering station and a large entertainment area. The helm station is centerline forward with steering, navigation, radar, autopilot and engine controls. Seating consists of twin Crown helm seats on polished stainless pedestals for the captain and an observer to starboard. To port and starboard are wing stations with controls for engines, steering and the bow thruster. A polished stainless steel windshield frame adds a look of substance to the entire area.
Walking down through the port side sliding hatch into the pilothouse, the lower helm station is centerline with a large Captain's chart table and computer work station, both to port. Aft and to starboard is a raised seating area for 4-6 with a granite table. Two large file drawers are below the table platform for ship's record storage. At the leather-upholstered helm station there is an extensive electronics package including dual Furuno Radars and chart plotters as well as NobelTec and Simrad navigation and plotting systems. There are broad sightlines, and excellent visibility from the expansive forward and side windows. Between the settee and the stairs up to the bridge deck is an enclosed cabinet housing a convenient printer for the nearby ship's computer station.
Leaving the pilot house and continuing down the curved stairs to starboard, you re-enter the main foyer and then proceed forward to the full-beam country galley. This very inviting area is equipped with a large Sub Zero side-by-side refrigerator and freezer against the aft bulkhead, with a KitchenAid induction cooking range, a conventional oven below and a GE microwave to port. Against the port wall is a double stainless steel sink with disposal. Extending from the port wall toward the starboard is a large marble counter almost 12' long with a custom stemware rack above and a KitchenAid dishwasher and storage below. This counter doubles as both a breakfast bar seating 3 on upholstered stools and as a useful space for the chef to plate meals for a large number of guests. All the way forward in the galley is a raised U-shaped dinette that comfortably seats 8 at a pair of matching high gloss teak and mahogany inlaid tables. The forward bulkhead holds a 38” LCD flat screen TV with mirrored panels to port and starboard. Just forward to port of the main counter, is an under counter 24-bottle wine cooler with a large butcher block cutting board on top. Abundant overhead lighting and large windows make the galley one of the most convivial areas of vessel.
Proceeding forward from the galley and to starboard is a private stairwell leading down to the VIP stateroom. A cedar-lined closet is to starboard with a raised queen berth and padded headboard centerline beyond. There is custom-fitted light cherry cabinetry along both sides of the room containing ample drawer storage while overhead, the ceiling is raised and trimmed in light cherry. A 15" Vizio flat screen TV mounted on an adjustable swing arm is on the starboard aft bulkhead for easy viewing. The ensuite head is aft to port, and features contrasting shades of Emperador marble in the very large shower with a high volume “Rain” style showerhead. A tempered glass door and adjoining glass partition separate the shower from the rest of the head area. The Emperador marble theme is carried on to the floor and the vanity tops. There are his and her dual designer series sinks with polished brass and chrome faucets and full width mirrored medicine cabinets with substantial shelving space for cosmetics and toiletries. Finally, portholes on either side of the stateroom enhance the area with natural light.
Proceeding aft from the galley on the main deck, a private stairway leads down to the master stateroom and two additional guest cabins. Walking down the lighted carpeted stairs, one enters the lower foyer with a coffered ceiling and elegant decorative light fixture. The floor is polished marble in the same Emperador Dark and contrasting Emperador Light theme found throughout the boat. The cherry wood panelized wall facing the staircase holds a pair of large matching art pieces and hide a stacked Miele washer-dryer set for easy access by the stew working in those guest areas.
The master suite is forward of the lower foyer and is accessed through double cherry doors which open outward into the foyer. The California King berth sits centerline with custom end tables and lamps on each side. There are generous his and hers cedar-lined walk in closets to both port and starboard with plenty of storage. A lighted, mirrored makeup table sits to port after entering the room above which hangs a 28" LCD TV on a retractable mount. Along the port wall is a large built-in dresser with nine sizeable drawers and on the opposite wall is a comfortable settee with matching end cabinets.
The full beam his and hers master head area is accessed through port and starboard doors outboard of the bed, and features luxurious marble floors and full height mirrors along the forward beam wall with matching polished brass and chrome fixtures. A custom dressing settee sits in front of the mirrors facing a Jacuzzi tub to starboard and a separate glass-enclosed shower stall to port.
On the main deck forward is a large sun pad cushion and bolster (with cover) that is a perfect spot for conversation and sunning. All the way aft, down matching teak laid curved transom steps, is a substantial swim platform area with removable u-shaped stainless steel safety rails. This serves as an ideal boarding area for the Intrepid or other water activities.
Access to the crew quarters is either from the swim platform through a heavy sea door or from the aft deck above down a ladder hidden behind an enclosure. Entering from the swim platform, the Captain's room is located to port and contains a double bed with drawers below and a small closet. The head and shower is ensuite but can be shared with other members of the crew if desired through a separate entrance. On the opposite side of the central walkway leading to the engine room are two additional crew rooms. The starboard aft room contains a pair of crossover bunks and the forward starboard room contains a full-size single bed. Both rooms contain hanging space and drawers for personal storage. A second crew head and shower is accessible by, and shared by, the two starboard crew rooms.
The crew area also contains a full-size washer/dryer stack for heavier loads as well as a small utility sink and ironing area. Just to port of the engine room access door is the ship's primary electrical control panel for both generators and shore power.

Guest and Master Stateroom Furnishings
Each of the three guest staterooms and the master stateroom is finished to a high level and decorated individually with unique wall coverings, custom bed spreads, accenting pillow shams and accessories. Casually elegant window coverings provide accent color and also function well to control light entering the rooms through the large stainless steel port lights. (Individual upholstered port light covers are also present in each stateroom.) Designer lamps along with individually selected artwork and table accessories complete the look. Each stateroom has custom-built light cherry cabinetry with matching end tables, headboards, and closet spaces designed for the specific layout of each stateroom. Tables and counters are topped with polished Travertine marble for a warm elegant feel.
The carpet in each guest room is a high-quality deep cut pile in an off-white color that stands up well to wear and doesn't show footprints. Where possible, full height floor to ceiling beveled mirrors are incorporated to create more light and openness.
The closets in each stateroom are fully lined with cedar and most have small electronic wall safes for valuables. The beds in the three midship rooms are fitted with special gas-assist struts that allow the beds to be lifted upward to gain access to the substantial areas below the berths for additional storage. In the VIP stateroom, the curvature of the hull precludes using the lift struts, but four large drawers under the berth offer ample additional storage.
Each room is fitted with an intercom phone for communications throughout the vessel. Additionally, 17" Visio TVs with individual Direct TV satellite receivers are positioned for easy viewing in each stateroom. A WIFI system provides good signal strength throughout the boat when connected to an external network or satellite receiver.
The ensuite heads associated with each stateroom all have glass-fronted contemporary showers and are finished in warm tones of polished imported Emperador marble on the floors and vanity tops. Full width mirrors above the vanity counters open to reveal ample shelving for toiletries and cosmetics. Cherry drawers and cabinets below each vanity provide ample storage for spare towels and other personal items. The matching faucets and towel bars are done in an attractive brass and chrome combination.
The heads are the Head Hunter Royal Flush models with fresh water flush and are operated by a simple touch of a button.
The master stateroom follows a similar theme as the guest rooms, but with its full beam width it is more spacious. His and hers cedar-lined walk-in closets are to port and starboard and large nine drawer dresser is along the port wall. A comfortable upholstered settee with built-in end tables is on the opposite side of the room. A well-lighted mirrored dressing table occupies a corner of the main space with a retractable 28" Vizio TV mounted above.
The master head extends the full width across the boat with his and hers marble vanities on each side. Floor to Ceiling Mirrors extend across the center section of the forward beam wall with an upholstered dressing settee in front. To starboard across from the settee are a Jacuzzi tub and a glass-enclosed shower stall to port. The overall feeling is of warm elegance while being completely functional.

Remarks
Marbella II is a well-cared for vessel that has been continuously upgraded over the past three years. The engines and generators have all been rebuilt and burn virtually no oil. Her 20 ton A/C system insures the guests will always be comfortable regardless of where she cruises. Her interior has been completely renewed to a casually elegant modern style and the exterior retains its original contemporary appeal. Marbella II is truly ready for many more miles of trouble-free cruising and entertaining.
