Refit/Maintenance Details
The interior of OBSESSION is a reflection of the owners desires, wishes, and taste. During the refit process the owners goal was to have a chic vessel with elements of Art Deco, but to also stay true to the original design by Bannenberg. The colors of choice were chocolate brown and gold. This esthetic refit notably included the extension of the Owner's deck, including new seating arrangements, a new bar was installed on the Sundeck where a Gym was as well added. Addition of new seating areas on port and starboard side of the main deck's aft. The yacht was fully repainted to a grey hull and white superstructure. As for the technical side, the yacht's engine and waterjets were overhauled with engines hours turned back to zero, new Quantum Zero Speed stabilizers installed, complete overhaul of the Water makers, Air conditioning, Bow thruster, Fuel filtration, Oil filtration, Sewage system and Generators.

The Dining Salon furniture plan changes from an original round table to an oblong table that mimics the overhead design of the area. Three beautiful gold and crystal light fixtures over the Dining Room table make this area more intimate and inviting. The custom dining table was designed to incorporate touches of elegance from the decor (such as a gold leaf bullnose), the use of different exotic woods and a custom laser center piece. A new bar area was designed for the room, with a wine cooler and a service area for the crew to use during dinner. The forward port and starboard cabinets were a part of the original design. The columns got a touch of glamour by being gold leafed and topped by custom framed mirrors. The sconces flanking each side of the mirrors are from the same collection as the lights above the dining room table, giving the room a sense of consistency. The custom dining room chairs are upholstered in a gold metallic leather, with a backside of chocolate brown and gold floral material (reminiscent of Art Deco). The same material used on the floor drapes the ceilings of the Dining Salon. In the center of the Dining Salon there is a newly designed cabinet to house service items, and also holds an antique piece of art from the owners collection. This piece separates the Dining Room in two areas: the formal dining area and the smaller salon where guests can have a cocktail and appetizers before dinner is served. Beautiful gold silk velvet couches and an art deco style cocktail table welcome you in this area. Another focal point in this spectacular dining salon are the custom carved art deco sliding doors that separate the Dining Salon form the Galley. These doors are painted in chocolate brown with touches of gold and silver leaf to enhance the overall beauty of this room.

Each stateroom has a different color combination, that is followed through into each separate head. The floor to ceiling framed headboards add a touch of elegance to each area with a different design pattern and fabric choice in each room. Each head is designed to feel like a spa. The vanity tops are solid, satin finished, teak wood slabs with clear above mount bowl sinks. The walls are covered with small glass tiles and the wallpaper is Murano glass beads.
The overhead design is a sunburst with a center light fixture of silver and crystal. The floor to ceiling custom framed headboard is upholstered in snow white chenille fabric enhanced by a silver and gold wooden frame. The bedspread is silk velvet which was hand painted with silver and gold metallic paint in Germany. The entire room was finished an an antique silver leaf with a gold wash over it. The port and starboard sofas are upholstered in a white chenille with gold metallic threads running through it. The floor to ceiling drapes are white with gold accents, with sheer drapes of metallic gold stamped flowers. The carpet is a white and gold viscose and silk blend.
The Master Bathroom was designed around the owners wishes, which was not to use granite or marble, instead a synthetic stone composed of crushed sea shells and pieces of metallic gold and silver was used. Gold metallic 1" X 1" glass tiles were used to create inserts and designs throughout the head and shower area. A round mirror and crystal light fixture were installed in the center dome to give the room more glamour and reflection.
The owner wanted this space to be modern and clean. He wanted it to feel like he was in his Ferrari. The desk is from a refurbished airplane nose, from the Californian company Motoart. The red leather pilot jumper chair is also an original piece from Motoart. The simple, crisp design of the white leather couches, enhanced by touches of polished stainless steel, add to the futuristic feel of this room. The black glass mirrors reflect the ocean but still give a sense of a cool, modern environment.
The Main Salon was a blank slate, with originally built-in furniture. We decided to keep the conversation area of this room in the center, allowing passage ways both port and starboard, so that the intimacy of the room would not be lost. Custom cabinetry was built in on the port and starboard sides to house china, crystal, accessories and new A/C units. The main focus of the room now became the forward bulkhead, with the addition of a custom hi-lo TV cabinet. The original columns were kept in tact, but to add the glitz and glamour that the owners desired they were gold leafed. The focal point now has an original piece of art from the owners extensive collection. Custom furniture upholstered in rich chocolate silk velvet fabrics and touches of gold make the room all the more glamourous. Custom designed art deco art pieces flank the port and starboard entrances to the Dining Salon.
All new wood veneer, Macasar Ebony in a high gloss finish to be exact, was added to this room, to enhance the Art Deco feel. The new bar panels are framed in macasar ebony with cream leather upholstered inserts, to add softness to the room. Cream, brown and copper fabrics accent the room with port and starboard L-shaped sectionals large enough for everyone to sit, lay or just spend time together watching a movie on the large pop up TV. The aft port and starboard bookcases enhance crystal pieces from the owners collection of beautiful and exotic accessories. The lamps on the port and starboard wenge wood end tables are baccarat crystal purchased in Monaco.
