Overview

Marmax is a superb example of the Rob Humphreys designed Oyster 46, and the winner of the Concours d’Elégance award at our 2009 Oyster Palma Regatta. Relatively lightly used, mostly UK East Coast sailing, currently lying in the Mediterranean.  

Comprehensively equipped, featuring a fully battened mainsail, electric winches, bow thruster, air conditioning, diesel fired cabin heating, radar/chart plotter, AIS, microwave etc.  Below decks her hand-crafted oak joinery and six berths in three cabins plus two sea berths in the saloon when required, offers her crew superior comfort at sea.

Interior joinery finished in American white oak with ‘Millennium’ styling.

Designed to be modern and coordinated, whilst remaining practical and durable at sea. Essential features include sculpted fiddles and grabrails, ‘shadow-gap’ joints between panels and Oyster custom knobs for lockers and drawers.

SALOON
                             
Light and airy the deck saloon features an L-shaped settee area and table on the port side. To starboard is a two-seater settee. The port settee forms a useful sea-berth when used with the trotter box and lee-cloth provided.

The table features a matching fold over leaf, supported by a removable strut, to allow both sides of the saloon seating to be used for dining.

Bottle stowage within the table pedestal.

Glass stowage locker.

Central overhead handrail.

Access to the saloon from the companionway is down a removable set of shaped timber steps with timber grab rails.


NAVIGATION AREA
At the aft starboard end of the saloon the forward facing chart table can accommodate half-folded Admiralty charts.

Navigational equipment is flush-mounted in a ‘dark grey’ Alcantara fascia with a multi-purpose LCD screen on a hinged section of the fascia, to enable TV/DVD to be viewed from saloon.

A door, inboard of the navigator's seat, under the cockpit, gives access to an oilskin hanging locker. Through a removable panel in it one may also gain access into the engine compartment.


GALLEY
To port with the cooker and sinks set into work surfaces on opposing sides of the galley to make for a very practical sea-going layout that is combined with excellent storage space.

Twin stainless steel sinks inboard, below cockpit.  Seagull drinking water purifier system with separate tap (new 2015).

COOKER/HOB
Gimballed Force 10 FT63451 cooker in stainless steel with 4 burners, grill and oven, all protected by a flame failure gas cut-off device. The cooker incorporates an electronic ignition system. An electric solenoid switch for the gas shut-off valve is fitted adjacent to the cooker.

A fiddle rail incorporating a pair of adjustable clamping pan-holders is fitted around the top of the cooker.

A harbour lock and cooker crash bar are fitted and the cooker is housed in a moulded GRP surround.


MICROWAVE
