Legendary in yachting circles for her reputation as a world-class blue water cruiser, there is little doubt as to why the Oyster 56 is the most successful model in Oyster’s illustrious 42-year history. Famously capable of voyaging across any ocean in style and comfort, the 56 is a lively performer, yet voluminous enough for up to 6 people to live comfortably for extended periods at sea. Designed for manageability, the 56 into a size range that can be effortlessly handled by a savvy sailing couple, the layout features a forward island berth, offering VIP guests similar accommodation to the luxurious owner’s cabin aft along with a third bunk cabin and a separate workshop. Oyster had the distinct privilege of building 75 hulls, a testament to the harmony of these key features.
Champlain is a pedigree example. One of the last three hulls built, and delivered in 2010, the yacht was customized by the
adventurous and hands-on Vermonters that own her today. On the shores of the lake that bears her name, Champlain was
conceived as a winter retreat in the islands and designed with careful attention to every detail, including rich cherry joinery,
Webasto heater, which hints at the notion of high-latitude voyaging, custom seating in the saloon; the list of options is
thoughtful and impressive. Though designed for ocean voyaging, she has been gently sailed with low machinery hours, always
based and professionally maintained under the watchful eye of Caribbean Yacht Management, Oyster’s Service Center in the
BVI. Champlain wants for nothing, is turnkey and ready to set sail on her next adventure.
