Overview

Ragamuffin is a fine example of Oyster’s most popular model so far, the Oyster 56. Since her launch in 2004
Ragamuffin has, in the owners’ words “yielded many years of exceptional enjoyment, created the most
wonderful sailing experiences and memories for all those who sailed on her”. She has been maintained to
exacting standards and has never been chartered.
To bring her up to date, Ragamuffin had an all-encompassing refit with Oyster Wroxham in 2013, which not
only included a new teak deck, new rigging and new sails, but also "enabled extensive overhauling and
reconditioning of many engineering components, which given the scope of work and if done outside the
Oyster Yard, would have been challenging to do". The refit also permitted the owners to add many clever and
practical features, learnt along the way, to further enhance their comfort on board.
Ragamuffin’s in-mast furling makes her easy to handle with just two on board and yet the yacht is spacious
enough for seven people to cruise in comfort. “Professional crew participating in trans-Atlantic crossings on
Ragamuffin, frequently expressed their surprise at her speed and comfort at sea, surpassing many of their
experiences on larger yachts.” Below decks, Ragamuffin’s generous layout comprises a luxurious en-suite
aft cabin, two comfortable guest cabins and a third single bunk cabin which doubles as a walk-in workshop.
The owners are more than satisfied with the Oyster 56 design saying “Ragamuffin’s high quality finishes and
aesthetics are only surpassed by the attention to engineering detail incorporated at the time of design and
build.”
Ragamuffin is only for sale as the owners are planning the potential acquisition of a much bigger Oyster.
Lying in Oyster Palma, ready to cast off, Ragamuffin is available to view at short notice.
