The 625 design was a game changer for Oyster, winning three major awards on her launch, and pioneering the triple ‘Seascape’ saloon windows, which proved very popular with owners, and have been incorporated in every subsequent Oyster design. Contemporary design below decks with innovative lighting solutions, make the 625 a very attractive yacht to be aboard. She sleeps eight in four cabins, with the possibility of specifying the forward sail locker as a crew cabin if required. Careful thought has been given to ease of handling with in-mast furling, and cutter rigs available, and most examples launched have been specified with hydraulic furling for true push-button sail handling.
Great Bear V is owned by an experienced yachtsman and his family, and was specified with an emphasis on comfort, ease of handling and family sailing. Never chartered, she has been sailed privately with occasional professional crew when required. She has been sailed in European waters only and is yet to cross an ocean. An impressive interior crafted in maple with walnut floors gives a clean modern look, and she sleeps up to eight in four cabins, three of which are en suite.
On deck her mainsail, genoa and staysail are all furled hydraulically, and powerful electric winches allow push button sailing. Comprehensive audio, visual and navigation packages and a generous specification including generator, heating, air conditioning, watermaker, and icemaker ensure that Great Bear V offers comfortable blue water cruising. She is very well cared for and has been meticulously maintained, so an early viewing is highly recommended.
