Description

The surprising move up from 40 feet.
More than a few knowledgeable sailors have praised they Bill Shaw design as a triumph in thirty-six and a half feet.  It might sound like an exaggeration to claim that the 365 is more accommodating than many 40 footers, where it not for the proud and experienced owners who tell us she exceeds the livability of many at 42!
You should know that the 365's fuel, ice, and water capacities will take you comfortably to the far reaches of whatever cruising grounds your schedule permits. The 365's sailing, powering, and docking performance will leave the experienced sailor wanting for nothing in the way of handling. The 365 has become known as the sailor's sailboat.    "If ... you believe that I designed the 365 for myself, you're absolutely right.  She's all I personally want in a boat.  Hope you feel the same way."  - Bill Shaw

Walkthrough

COCKPIT:
Boarding the boat at the aft cockpit you will note the large 360 degree seating area suitable for between 7 - 11 adults/children.  The helm is aft and features wheel steering, throttle & gear shift, auto-pilot controls and a fold down cockpit table.  Two propane tanks are found in the lazerette locker.  There are large port and starboard lockers under the seating.  Starboard side contains the house water pump, hot water heater and halon fire suppression system. Portside contains the batteries and battery chargers. The fuel tank is under the deck, between the two lockers.  The mizen mast is mounted in the forward part of the cockpit.  Port and starboard winches are found on the gunnels for trimming the Genoa.  Wind, speed & depth instruments are mounted in the forward port bulkhead.  A third winch for managing the main is found on the cabin top which is covered by a Dodger.
DECK:
Moving forward on the cabin top deck there are two hatches with integrated solar fans, the keel stepped main mast, a dorade vent on the starboard side and 4 teak hand grabs, 2 port 2 starboard.  The teak capped gunnels are raised above the deck.  Double life lines run fore and aft, port and starboard from the stainless steel bow pulpit to the stern rail.  Genoa sheet turning cars on rails are found amidship on the gunnels. The sprit mounted Danforth anchor is found at the bow along with a second dorade vent for the anchor locker.
SALON:
The salon is in beautiful condition, featuring a teak & holly sole and ash trimmed mahogany joinery.  As you enter down the companionway ladder the nav station with a fold away seat and electrical control panels are to starboard, along with a hanging wet locker, with the u-shaped galley to port.  Moving forward the main salon features port and starboard settees and a starboard side pilot berth.  An ash trimmed mahogany fold down table is mounted on the forward bulkhead. Built in storage is found port and starboard with additional storage compartments behind the settee cushions.  The port settee converts to a double berth, with the starboard converting to a single.  The pilot berth is found above the port settee.  Overhead teak hand holds are installed port and starboard with a hatch center. Two fans and four bulkhead mounted lamps complete the salon.
FORWARD COMPANION WAY AND HEAD:
Moving forward a hanging locker and built in chest of drawers is found on the port with the head to starboard.  The head features a manual marine head facing aft, a stainless steel sink and storage cabinetry along the starboard hull and a full size shower facing forward.
FORWARD CABIN:
The teak and holly sole and ash trimmed mahogany joinery is carried into the forward cabin where you will find a v-berth that sleeps 2.  A hanging locker is found on the starboard side with a built-in chest of drawers to port. The cabin features 2 opening ports on either side and a hatch overhead w/a integrated solar fan.  Two fans and two bulkhead mounted lamps complete the cabin.
GALLEY:
The u-shaped galley is found on the port side of the companionway stairs.  It features a stainless steel sink with hot and cold running water and separate, filtered water and foot pump spigots on the aft bulkhead.  An opening port is found above the sink. The propane stove is along the port hull with dry lockers both under counter and at counter level along the hull.  A teak hand hold is mounted on the overhead above the stove. The U is completed by the large under counter icebox and built in trash receptacle.  Above is hanging locker open to the galley with a lamp mounted underneath.
