Overview

The complex and diverse roles of Armed Forces today demand the ability to extend tactical surface operations farther than ever before. This requires a rapidly deployable, robust, high-speed boat capable of performing multiple missions in the harshest marine environments. The Rough Water™ Multi-Role Platform can perform an extensive range of ship’s boat missions:

  • Boarding Operations
  • Support to humanitarian and disaster relief operations
  • Over-the-horizon Operations
  • Surveillance
  • Search and Rescue
  • General transportation of personnel and cargo
  • Support to Dive Ops
Improvements over the capabilities of the existing RHIB include increased speed, shock-mounted seating for 12 personnel, larger load capability, and Advanced Command & Control System (communications, navigation, sensors and situational awareness). The Rough Water™ hull characteristics provide maximum versatility in differing layout and accommodation arrangements and provide superior stability in moderate and heavy seas. This composite hull construction is also well suited for use in arctic and tropical operational environments.

The hull design incorporating a 23° deep V continuous deadrise hull form with full-length planning strakes and wide bilge chine result in unique hull design characteristics that open the seas easier and softer with nil spray offering unmatched performance and fuel efficiency.
