Overview
"Freestyle" is a lovely example of the ever popular 42 Sabre
Express. Built in Maine with timeless lines and phenomenal
craftsmanship these boats are not only great looking but also fabulous
running boats. "Freestyle" boasts features such as an air conditioned
and heated helm deck, bow thruster, Furuno radar and plotters,
autopilot, custom canvas and sparkling blue painted hull. Her two
stateroom layout is quite inviting and the rich cherry woodwork adorned
interior feels warm but light thanks to abundant port lights and
overhead hatches. Kept on the upper Chesapeake Bay "Freestyle" is not a
boat to be missed for any downeast buyer!
Helm Deck Area
The helm deck features two Stidd helm and companion chairs that are
easily adjusted and swiveled around to socialize with friends and
family. The helm area is climate controlled with air conditioning and
heat but also has large sliding windows, overhead hatches and a center
opening windshield for plenty of breeze on those fair weather days. The
helm deck is fitted with a natural teak deck for superior traction and
rich nautical feel. To port there is a comfortable L-shaped
Ultra-Leather upholstered settee with an inlaid pedestal table for
seating and dining al fresco and opposite to starboard an additional
built in seat. An on deck wetbar with storage underneath is
conveniently located on the helm deck as well. The helm area has a rear
canvas enclosure with zipper door and windows which can be easily
removed or rolled for a more open air feel but allows for an extended
boating season and protection from the elements when left down.- Stidd Helm and Companion Chairs - Re-upholstered in 2014

Hull and Construction
This modified "V" hull design has a transom deadrise angle of 16
degrees. The hull is molded in a female mold using ISO-NPG gelcoat and
vinylester back-up resin. Knitted, biaxial fiberglass laminates are
vacuum-bagged with Divinycell PVS foam core material in the running
surfaces and topsides sections. A foam/plywood cored fiberglass
stringer system with steel caps are used at the engine mounts. The deck
is constructed with isopthalic gelcoat and molded in non-skid surfaces.
The deck has knitted, biaxial fiberglass laminates plyed over an
end-grain balsa core material. There is a fiberglass anchor pulpit with
double roller in addition to two anchor rode and line lockers on the
foredeck. For boarding into the cockpit, there is a hinged
inward-opening transom door and fiberglass swim platform with swim
ladder. There is a welded stainless steel perimeter rail, teak toerails
and eyebrows, custom stainless steel springline chocks, stainless steel
bow chocks and stainless steel hawse pipes for the stern.
