Sought-after cruiser to take you anywhere...at the right price! "Queen Anne's Revenge" is a sailing ship packed into 31 feet!
There's a reason this boat was featured in the classic book "Twenty Small Sailboats to Take You Anywhere" by John Vigor. The Southiern Cross 31 is a no nonsense double-ender designed by Tom Gillmer, a professor of naval architecture at the US Naval Academy.
Unlike many similar boats, the Southern Cross was US-built in Bristol, RI, and there was no compromising on the quality of materials. Her hull and deck are solid, she has no blisters, and her tanks are fiberglass and located in the keel (no messy black iron tanks to deal with!). The woodwork in the interior is beautiful. She is a tough little boat! She's full-keeled, with an outboard rudder and tiller combo, a configuration often praised for its simplicity and her cockpit is safe and suitable for ocean passages. The cutter rig with bowsprit has 447 sq. ft. of canvas.
Come see this boat! You will fall in love with "Queen Anne's Revenge!"
Accommodations This is a roomy boat for 31 feet. Upon entering the cabin, the first thing that strikes you is the ample amount of storage, making this boat a perfect boat for long-range cruising. The galley is to port and nav station, with extra storage below, is to starboard. The cabin is lined with bookshelves and cabinets, and a fold-down dinette is easily stowed on the port side for passages. The woodwork in the cabin is absolutely stunning, and is indicative of the overall quality of craftsmanship of this vessel. Forward, there is a roomy head to starboard and a large hanging locker to port. The large v-berth is lined with storage--something that you rarely see on a boat this size. Queen Anne's Revenge is a comfortable and classy ship! |
