Every so often a special boat comes along and this is one of them. The “Shark’s Tooth” was purchased by her caring owner in 2006 and has been used to fish the Florida Middle Grounds (100 miles offshore) as well as for Sunday afternoon Family Beach Outings in the Tarpon Springs Florida Area, The home of Stamas Yachts. She has always received top care and maintenance and has recently undergone a Repower with significant systems upgrades.
When most vessels are re-powered, the engines are replaced and any cables, lines, or fittings that look marginal to the mechanic are replaced. That is not the case with "Shark's Tooth".
“Shark’s Tooth's” Repower was a Mechanical Re Fit to updated technology and controls. Some of the highlights are as follows:
Her Steering was upgraded to the Hynautic dual ram power assist system- this was a very expensive way to go, however by installing this system the helm can easily be run from lock to lock with one hand very quickly. A huge advantage when docking or backing down on a fish.
Shift, Throttle, and Trim Controls were upgraded to the latest available Yamaha technology. All fly by wire with no cables! There is no stiff resistance on the throttles or clunky shifting when docking. The Helm Controls are “smooth as butter”. Again the latest Yamaha controls were not required during the refit but chosen over the standard available as being worth the extra expense for ease of use and operation.
Yamaha Multi Function Gauges were installed for precise monitoring of fuel consumption and engine monitoring. Yamaha Push Button Start / Stop controls were installed as well.
Her Engines are under FULL factory warranty until September 2018 and all services have been done by the dealer with full records to convey with sale.
Before undertaking the non-recoupable expense of refitting “Shark’s Tooth”, her owner consider purchasing a new boat of the same size. After inspecting the quality and experiencing the ride of other manufacturer’s new models, the decision was clear. Stick with the proven ride of the heavily built Stamas Yacht and refit her systems to current technology.
His desire to focus on inshore fishing has brought him to the decision of selling her in favor of a “bay boat”. As such quality bay boats would be considered as partial trade.
She is a rare opportunity to own a high quality updated vessel that performs and handles like a new boat with the benefit of engine warranties in place for another three years at a fraction of the cost of purchasing new.
