Overview

The Tayana 55 has a well deserved reputation for being a well designed, comfortable, safe ocean cruiser. The 55 has been to all corners of the globe and are still a quality choice for modern sailors.

Beguile has had numerous upgrades during this ownership including:

New rigging in 2010, both standing and running

Bottom was peeled, dried for 4 months,3 coats of barrier epoxy applied then Copper coat

Accommodations

Beguile features a 2 stateroom, 2 head interior layout. There is a large guest stateroom forward with plenty of storage in various drawers and lockers.Hatches provide light and ventilation from above and thru ports in the hull.

There is a full head and ensuite shower stall for guests.It has all the ammenities,marine head,vanity, mirror and lots of storage room.

Moving aft we get to the main salon area.Forward on the port side is a cool nook that works as a bar for entertaining or a cozy area for breakfast. There is a sink, ample countertops and loads of storage.

Directly across to starboard is the navigational area.Here we find a large chart table with numerous drawers that would actually fit paper charts! All the various electronics and the 110 and 12v panels are here as well.

The settee is to port and features seating for owners and guests around a fold down teak table.There are bookshelves behind and opening hull ports along with a large opening hatch.

Running along the starboard walk thru to the aft stateroom is the galley.

The aft owner's stateroom is large with an island queen bed surrounded by teak cabinetry. It has drawers for storage and good sized hanging lockers for clothes.The owner's head is to port with marine toilet,mirror,sink,storage and separate shower stall.

There is also and entrance to the work bench in the engine room thru the shower.

Hull ports and a large hatch let in light and air plus there are reading lights thru out.

The whole boat is air conditioned.Numerous overhead and reading lights thru out.

Galley

The galley features:

3 burner Seaward gimbeled propane stove with oven and Xantax solenoid switch

Grunert refrigeration with holding plates, top and front loading with exterior gauges 

Isotherm chiller

Formica countertops with teak trim and sea rails

Stainless steel double sinks with hot and cold pressure water

Sylvania microwave oven

Numerous cabinets and drawers for storage

Deck

Beguile is cutter rigged with an alloy double speader mast and alloy boom that is stepped on deck with woos grained metal compression post.. The genoa and and staysail are on roller furlers.The standing and running rigging was replaced in 2010 and has been lightly used since then. The stem and stern pulpits are stainless steel with double lifelines with gates.There is a strong rub rail as well. There is a walk up transom on the stern with boarding ladder.

All the way forward is the anchor on a double bow roller with anchor chain and rode. Anchoring is easy with the Maxwell 3500 electric windlass with foot switches. Next is a forepeak sail locker with hatch.Behind that are 2 dorades. There are 4 more dorades along with 7 oprning hatch on deck and 16 opening ports in the hull. There are also 10 deck prisms.There are also port and starboard mast pulpits.

Protecting the cockpit is a dodger and Bimini. There is a large teak destroyer wheel on a pedestal with Richie compass. The sheet winches are Lewmar 65's. There hare 2 smaller self tailing halyard winches.

The electronics in the cockpit are Raymanrine wind, depth and speed, ST 60 model. Also a Simrad autopilot.

There is a teak cockpit table as well.A port side cockpit seat open up to access the engine room from the outside.

Aft of the cockpit is the traveler with 2 winches to control the mainsail. There are 3 hatches and 4 dorades here.
