70' Marlow Explorer Motor Yacht EMILIE

The 70' Marlow Explorer Motor Yacht EMILIE combines a handsome pilothouse profile with state of the art construction and a practical layout that is perfect for cruising in comfort and luxury. EMILIE represents the finest example of this popular yacht currently available, she has been professionally maintained to the highest standards and 'open checkbook'. She is well equipped for long range cruising and all services are up to date. Annual yard service completed August, 2015 including new bottom paint and Prop Speed, stabilizer seals, fluids and filters replaced. New Headhunter AC and DC water pumps with inline particle filters installed. New UV drinking water filter. All Vacuflush toilets receive new ball seals. All brightwork stripped and 10 coats of Awl Spar and 7 coats of Awl Bright applied.

Entire boat was painted and new teak decks installed at Bradford Marine in 2014. 

Vessel Walkthrough

Beginning on the fully covered teak aft deck, features include built-in cushioned bench seat. Sidepower bow and stern thruster controls. Emergency Morse engine controls. A molded FRP stairway with teak treads forward to port leads up to the boat deck and flybridge. Port and starboard aft are boarding doors and three steps on each side leading down to the large swim platform.

Double centerline doors open to the spacious salon. The combination of satin finished teak joinery, granite countertops, Ultraleather furniture custom Fabrica Nepali fitted carpet currently cover the varnished teak & holly sole create an inviting warm ambiance. A large hi - lo coffee table fronts the sofa. On the port side there are 2 barrel club chairs covered in Ultraleather. All the way forward on the port side is the granite topped buffet built-in bar with wine cooler, ice maker and refrigerator. as well as a china cabinetry on the forward upper bulkhead. Forward starboard is the private stairway to the Master suite. The king size island berth is centerline with built-in nightstands on either side and reading lamps above.

Three steps up from the salon leads to the galley and pilothouse. The starboard side open galley is truly a chef's delight with granite counters, abundant storage, under counter refrigeration and top of the line appliances. The port side entry door and floating teak stairway to the flybridge is directly across from the galley. Forward to port, elevated one step is the built-in dinette and slide out teak table with fold-down leaf. To starboard and centerline is the lower helm station with Stidd helm chair covered in Ultraleather. All navigation electronics and instruments are within easy sight and reach of the helmsman. The starboard side entry door is directly next to the helm.

A curved stairwell on the forward, starboard side of the pilothouse leads down to the guest staterooms. To port is the guest stateroom with upper and lower crossing berths. A cedar lined hanging locker and storage drawers are under the berths. An ensuite bath with stall shower, marble counter, undermounted sink and Vacuflush head is aft. The VIP guest cabin forward features a queen berth.

The ensuite bath with teak framed plexiglass stall shower is accessed from the stateroom or companionway allowing it to used as a day head. There are two cedar lined hanging lockers, port and starboard as well as under berth storage drawers and overhead storage lockers.Two overhead hatches provide natural light and ventilation.

The crew quarters and engine room are accessed through a hatch on the aft deck. On the port side is a full size double berth, three storage lockers, built-in end table and hanging locker. To starboard are two additional storage lockers and head with shower. The engine room is accessed forward through a watertight door with viewing port. The engine room provides full stand up head room and excellent access to all systems and machinery. 

The flybridge and boat deck are accessed either from the aft deck or the pilothouse. Forward, centerline is the helm station with twin Stidd chairs offering excellent visibility and access to the full electronics array. The entire flybridge area is protected from the elements by an FRP hardtop. Aft of the helm to starboard are 2 molded L shaped seating surrounding a fiberglass table on a pedestal. On the port side is a fiberglass cabinet housing a refrigerator, ice maker, electric grill and wet bar. All the way aft on the boat deck is a hydraulic davit. The entire boat deck perimeter is protected by a stainless steel double guard rail.

Hull & Construction

Marlow Yachts use the most modern materials and construction techniques including resin infusion, Dupont Kevlar, vinylester and epoxy resins with high density core materials, resulting in a hull, deck & superstructure with more strength and less weight than possible with conventional methods.

While the foundation is a conventional semi-displacement form, Marlow utilizes proprietary "Velocijet Strut Keel" technology. This system uses twin strut keels that surround the propeller shafts in hydrodynamic fairings resulting in improved efficiency, tracking and stability. They also offer running gear protection, and modest propeller pockets keep draft to just 4 feet, 5 inches.
