Overview

Aequus is an excellent platform for living aboard and extended World cruising. She was thoughtfully equipped by her owners to ensure comfort, safety, and ease of handling. She reliably carried them throughout the Med, Caribbean, and east coast of the United States since they took delivery in 2018. Now they are ready to return to their lives in the UK and hope that their beloved Aequus will sail on to new adventures.

Her stylish Walnut interior features three staterooms, two heads, a utility/laundry area, a salon, galley, navigation station and a tremendous amount of storage. She will comfortably accommodate eight people in four berths, including the convertible salon berth. Interior amenities include, reverse cycle air conditioning, washer/dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, two heads with separate showers, a television, stereo, and a spacious salon with plenty of seating. The high-capacity AC generator and inverters will power all the AC equipment, when needed, and 1300 watts of solar maintains a charge on the lithium battery bank. Thanks to the water maker there is always plenty of fresh water, so go ahead and enjoy a proper shower aboard this lovely yacht.

The Bavaria C57 is fun to sail and easy to handle – even with a small crew. Its sheets and halyards can all be operated easily using four winches (2 electric), all within reach of the twin helm stations, which are fully equipped with electronics. The furling mainsail is a must for shorthanded cruising and sailing into the wind is a breeze thanks to the self-tacking jib. The Code-O is perfect for a pleasant beam reach and the cruising chute drives Aequus nicely down wind. The standard draft keel provides excellent lift and tracking ability, while dual rudders reduce weather helm. Finally, when needed the upgraded 110 HP Yanmar will consistently push Aequus along at 8.5 knots.

The deck and cockpit layout on the Bavaria C57 were expertly designed for safety, comfort, and enjoyment by Maurizio Cossutti of Cossutti Yacht Design in Italy. Flush mounted deck hatches, covered line channels, minimal deck fittings, lifelines, and cabin top rails make it easy to navigate the decks. The cockpit offers a tremendous amount of space with two U-shaped seating areas, two tables and dedicated helm stations. The cockpit tables can easily be converted into lounges and the exterior wet bar with grill, sink and refrigerator drawer is a sweet feature! The drop-down bathing platform is easily accessible via actual steps on either side of the integrated rib garage which accommodates the 60 HP Williams MiniJet 280. If you enjoy scuba diving you will love the dive compressor. Finally, Aequus includes an assortment of water toys.

Aequus is priced well below her replacement value and is ready to go. Note that VAT was paid in Malta in 2018. Aequus entered the US in June of 2021 and is currently cruising the mid-Atlantic. Contact the central listing broker for details on her current location.
