Overview

"First Light" is a beautiful low hour example of the 35 Cabo Flybridge.  Having the significantly improved on hull design that debuted in 2000, she is an excellent sea boat that demonstrates the high quality fit and finish that Cabo Yachts is noted for.   Her 450hp CATs provide an easy 25 knot cruise and the layout is equally at home offshore fishing or doing a family cruise or entertaining.   With two staterooms, stall shower, bright salon and easy engine access her interior is well thought out.  In the cockpit there is abundant room for tournament fishing, watersports or hosting friends and the bridge provides commanding sightlines fore and aft and has seating for at least 5.  An amazing quality package all in 35 feet, "First Light" is not a boat to be missed!

"First Light" is currently in Baltimore's Inner Harbor and easy to view just minutes off I-95 and only 20-25 minutes from Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI).  There are very few post-2000 35 Cabo Flybridges on the market so this is an opportunity see one of the best out there.  Please give me a call personally to answer any questions, provide more details, or to set up a showing!

Accommodations & Layout

"First Light" is a striking boat with a lower profile then most mid 30 foot convertibles which is  incredibly attractive to the eye while still providing an abundance of accommodations.   Her cockpit is amazingly large at 130 square feet and is set up for fishing with tackle centers port and starboard, two in deck fishboxes and a transom fishbox/livewell.  Outriggers, center rigger (not pictured), transom door,  rod storage, leaning post (not pictured), rocket launchers, and rod holders round out the package and "First Light" has optional electronic cockpit controls as well as a cockpit mounted sounder.

The bridge provides a commanding 360 degree view and there is a helm and companion chair as well as bench seating forward.  The hardtop with four sided polycarbonate/EZ2CY enclosure provide plenty of protection and the electronics are cleanly flush mounted at the helm and in the overhead electronics box.  Spreader lights are featured on both the trailing edge and side edges of the hardtop.

Inside "First Light" has a galley up, two stateroom layout.  The salon is bright and open and has a settee to port and a dinette that converts to a third sleeping area to starboard.  The L-shaped galley has under counter refrigeration and solid surface countertops.  Down two steps is a guest stateroom to port with bunks and locker space and a head directly across and to starboard.  The head features an opening port as well as a stall shower.  Forward is the master stateroom with an island double berth on the centerline.  Hanging locker space, drawer space and overhead cabinets provide plenty of storage and the overhead cabinets have built in rod holders for rod storage.

Manufacturer Provided Description

The Cabo 35 Flybridge Sportfisher is built by one the most successful boat builders in the business. Knowledgeable boat owners, fishermen, and the American financial community all consider the founders of Cabo Yachts to be two of the most successful builders in the world. Henry Mohrschladt and Michael Howarth began their first successful partnership building Pacific Seacraft sailboats. Back then, a serious offshore sailor planning an epic journey always chose (or aspired to) one of these boats. When Mohrschladt and Howarth sold the sailboat company, they decided they really wanted to build sportfishing boats. The result is what is seen here: the Cabo 35 Flybridge. Saltwater Sportsman claims that “the Cabo 35 lays down one of the cleanest wakes I've seen. With minimal turbulence behind the twin props, the surface trolling lures run exceptionally well from 1,000 rpm (10 mph) all the way up to 1,500 rpm (16 mph)." A 130-square-foot cockpit is unheard of on a 35-footer. Twin tackle boxes on each side of the cabin door carry everything to rig for any species that might be encountered. An industrial-strength transom door allows even the largest fish to be easily brought aboard and smaller fish can be safely stored in two large in-deck fish boxes. Everything else a serious angler demands can be found within easy reach, from rod holders to fresh- and saltwater washdowns. In fact, Cabo is so serious about this boat's fishing ability, that Henry Mohrschladt designed the cockpit before anything else, then built a boat around it. The flybridge with the aft-situated controls allows the helmsman an unobstructed view of the entire cockpit. When the fish moves off the corner, the Cabo 35 will beat it to wherever it's headed. The main cabin provides loads of room for socializing in elegant comfort. A portside galley affords plenty of room for the chef to create multi-course masterpieces, uncrowded by the guests at the starboard settee that easily seats five. There's additional seating portside aft of the galley. At the same time, there's precious little dead space, because storage abounds beneath settees and behind bulkheads. Below, a spacious double cabin features a large, double island berth on centerline and again, storage that puts many larger boats to shame. Two rod lockers forward conceal as many as 10 offshore rods with reels. A spacious head with a separate stall shower adjoins the forward stateroom.
